Pak-US relations how far benefited the people of both Countries

Billions of dollars came to Pakistan from the US but the people were given only the hazards by the Government. Neither their lives were protected nor were they given better quality of life. Each one is crying of price-hike, unemployment, injustice etc but no one has any solution for these problems.

It is astonishing for those thinking persons who hear time and again the lectures on Sovereignty of Parliament but see the opposite of the reality. Even the Parliamentarians are worried about their role in the formulation of foreign policy.

I think that both Pakistan and US seek soft targets in this regard at the time of their hardships. When in 1979, Martial Law was in the Country, the Military rulers for the sake of their obeyed the demand of war against Russia while it was easy for the US to talk with Military at that time. So both made the area the battlefield for the Countries of the World and each one gained the result of their choice while left innumerable problems for the people of Pakistan.

In 2001, once again the Military of Pakistan and the US Government joined hands. It is said that about 20 billions dollars came to Pakistan from the US but our Government did not use the amount for the people. No one is willing to give an account that how much was received, how much was spent and in what areas the amount was spent.

The Kerry-Lugar Act in my opinion was the first check on the unbridled flow of dollars and spending. This check alarmed the addicted persons and they began spreading misleading perceptions. I was waiting for the disruption of Pak-US relations since the time of the reservations of Pak Army on the said Act.

What was Osama, what is Al-Qaida is just to trap the people of both Countries to engage them in an unfinished war. The milk and cream of the cow is used by the top leadership while the droppings and urine are left to the people. How long it will continue no one knows.

In my opinion, the relation of Pakistan and US is that of Master and Servant. Master pays while the servant carries out the orders. Pakistan’s financial position has been painted very bad which needs further support from any other Country but no Country is willing to inject more dollars than US. In such condition, if the top leadership of both the Military met and they came to an understanding then everything would come to normalcy.

The complete silence on the Drone attacks after the resolution of Parliament in May 2011 indicates that our Government still believes in the normalcy of relations. The revisiting of policy from our side is nothing but the pressure of ‘Do More’ like from the US. If the demand of more support in shape of dollars was accepted any time then there would be no revisiting of policy.

But my question would remain on the spot that what would be the benefit of the relation of Pakistan with US to the people of Pakistan. Whether our problems would multiply manifolds or the dollars would be used to the prosperity of the people instead of investing them in making more sophisticated weapons in partnership with China?
