Childish, frivolous and frantic noise in the Pakistani Politics

Gone are the days when people were influenced by the sentimental speeches of the political leaders. People now seek sobriety and calmness in their leaders because the barking dogs seldom bite. When it said that sufficient restraint should be shown while commenting about the State Institutions, this rule is equally applicable on Politicians because they control the affairs of the Country.

The AJK elections showed that people voted PPP because the Prime Minister Gilani showed sufficient restraint in speaking to the people while the others crossed all limits for the sake of votes but the people rejected not only the PML (N) but also the religious parties who always considered themselves the well wishers of Kashmiri people.

The more a political party criticise the other parties, the less popular it would become in the future. Actually some leaders consider the people so ignorant and unaware that they wish to be their teachers which is a harmful trend for their very existence in the political arena.

The leaders instead of getting guidance from the people wish to impose their views on the people which is now unacceptable to the majority of the people. Quarrelling in the assemblies or using abusive language in the speeches is nothing but is to destroy their own image.

When I compare a politician in the assembly with a Judge of High Court, I find the Judge more sober, calm, alert, well-wisher of people, polite, devoted and learned. The politician makes the law but his every act unpredictable while the Judge decides the cases but everyone knows that he would do justice.

On 27-6-2011, I attended the Court of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Mr. Ejaz Afzal Khan. He was so prompt in reaching to the depth of the cases of the people that I have never seen another person like him. I never saw him bursting on anyone neither on lawyers nor on the litigants. Knowing well that he was sitting on a prestigious place his behaviour to all was on equal footing. He smilingly showed disagreement with the arguments of a lawyers. I realized the mystery behind the fact of feeling more security and honour to go to the Court instead of going to the people to whom they had voted in the election.

I request all the politicians and especially those who become out of bound in their speeches to revisit and re-determine their own personal dealings with the people for their own and for the sake of their own parties otherwise the people would storm them with stone instead of showering rose petals on them.
