Questions need answers?

This has reference to the news flashed in newspapers that Supreme Court of Pakistan has asked new Prime Minister Raja Perviaz Ashraf to tell the court by 12th July, 2012 whether he will write a letter to Swiss authorities or not about the loot money President Asif Ali Zardari has deposited there in banks.

As a matter of fact it is being dragged on for couple of years now and one way or the other letter despite many efforts on the part of the Supreme Court the letter has not been written and instead it is given to understand that it will not be written in any case come what may. Previous Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani was also by SC to write the letter but as the bad had it that when he did not write the said letter, SC charged him which ultimately resulted in his ouster from the high position and now the same is being faced with new PM on the subject. Yesterday Wednesday 27th June, 2012, Honorable Justice Nasir ul Mulk presiding over a hearing on NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) has directed Attorney General to approach PM on the issue and submit his written reply in the court by 12th July so that next step can be taken accordingly. On the face it one can assume that perhaps Raja will also follow the footsteps of his predecessor and the letter will not be written and I am with PM and not against him for the very simple reason that if at all the letter is to be written then why Gillani did not write it in the first instance? Why Gillani had to quit not only in disgrace but also become disqualified for 5 years to contest any election or hold any public office?

As a neutral person holding Pakistani green passport I must pose just a few very pertinent and blunt questions at the very ripe and right time but with all the bona fide intentions and therefore you are very humbly requested to please do not paint it otherwise. Why is Supreme Court asking for letter writing to Swiss authorities is my first question? Why the government is not writing the said letter is my second question? How much more time is required by the government to do the needful is another question? What signal is being passed on by the government to the public by not writing the letter is yet another question? Who will benefit if the letter is written is an important question? Who will suffer if the letter is not written can be the last but one question? Who is wrong as both (Supreme Court and government) cannot be right whatsoever my very last question is?

Answer to the conflict between the executive and the judiciary lies in the questions I have posed. Who will answer to let the dust settle down?
