Thank you Mr President Bush

Some of you, if not all, may be surprised to read as to how can I caption it with reference to the news whereby some one throws not one but both shoes and that too not only on president of a super power but on president the mightiest of all. Different people in various countries have commented differently on the news but to the best of my knowledge and belief none has commented from the angle like I am going to hint out in the subsequent lines.

Last week George W Bush, American President was on official visit to Baghdad, Iraq where he in the presence of Iraqi Prime Minister was to address to a selected invited gathering infamouusof a sudden such an awkward scene cropped up. Both American and Iraqi leaders were at the podium to address the gathering and none could even imagine that some one would dare to risk his life unless and until that some one is none but a suicide bomber himself.

Muntasir or Monather Zaidi an Iraqi national working with press as a television reporter was invited to attend news conference to be jointly addressed by Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki. He was in the 3rd row when he scolded Bush and threw off both of his shoes at the visiting dignitary. Iraqi Prime Minister who was right there leapt towards Bush and stretched his hands to ward off the shoes hitting American president. The shoes were thrown from quite a distance and hence practically speaking it was too very difficult if not impossible to hit Bush but it is no consequence whether the shoes hit Bush or not. Quite naturally the police and other security agencies flung into action, pounced on Zaidi and dragged him out of the arena.

He has been severely beaten by police and some news also said that his one arm and some ribs have been broken due to brutal physical torture. His family has seen him behind the docks. He is in police custody and will eventually be jailed for some years by an Iraqi court of law. There have been protests in favour of Zaidi not only in Iraq but in some other countries also and people hailed the courage of Zaidi for throwing shoes.

Summing up I will say that Bush has truly proved to the greatest leader of the century by leaving behind Zaidi to face the music in his home country otherwise Bush could have sent Zaidi to infamous US Naval Station in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and I very seriously doubt if any one on the face of earth could ever deter Bush not to imprison Zaidi in Cuba.
