KARACHI - Chairman Sindh Gothabad Scheme, Haji Muhammad Qasim Baloch, on Saturday expressed concern over the attitude of PPP high-ups as well as their federal and provincial ministers for adopting a policy of silence over the killings of their innocent party workers.
Addressing a press conference held here at Lyari Town Office, he also condemned the MQM demand of launching army operation in Lyari. “Army operation must be conducted in entire City to make it free from weapons,” he added.
Member provincial assembly Saleem Hangora, member of PPP Sindh counsel Habib Jan, elected representatives and PPP office bearers including President Peoples Youth Karachi division Khaliq Jan, Malik Fayaz, Lyari Town Nazim Mahmood Hashim, President Lyari Aman Committee Shahid Rehman Baloch and Zafar Baloch were also present on the occasion.
He said that ethnic violence was being tried to declare as a gang war of Lyari but this area was remained calm and the gang war had been ended.
But the coalition partner of government wanted to alive this dead issue for its own interest. He said that a particular community of Baloch was being targeted in the name of Lyari gang war.
The PPP leader has strongly criticised the statement of Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik who tried to connect the violence due to affair of a boy and a girl as he mentioned them as Urdu-speaking.
And that violence has no connection with that matter. “The carnage is connected with the dispute of Gatter Baghicha land. The purpose of the recent ethnic violence was to divert the attention of the people not only from the Ashura blast but also the prolong dispute of the 800 acres land in SITE Town,” he added.
