12th Death Anniversary of World-renowned Social Scientist Dr. AkhtarHameed Khan
Nobel Peace Prize Nominee and pioneer of microfinance Dr. AkhtarHameed Khan was the founder of the Bangladesh (previously known as Pakistan) Academy for Rural Development (BARD). Dr. A.H. Khan’s 12th death anniversary falls on October 09, 2011. Journalists, writers (including children), and other volunteers are invited to write an essay/article on Dr. Khan's role in rural development, poverty alleviation and microcredit.
