ICC’s verdict on Moulana Abul Kalam Azad:

Lies in Judicial Disguise

The judgement given by the International Criminal Court (ICC) of Dhaka exposes the utter incompetence and biasness of the judges. At least the judges must possess some intellectual competence to distinguish discernible lie from the truth, but the judgement pronounced by them did not reveal that.  Rather, like the thoughtless Awami League lie-monger, they too, ranted the same lie in their verdict against Moulana Abul Kalam Azad. The three judges proved to be no superior to ruling party’s foot-soldiers. By declaring his death sentence, they have only given a judicial covering of their demand on the street. 

Every line and every utterance in any judicial verdict must be supported by truthful document. They have mentioned in page 3 of 112 page judgement that 3 million were killed by Pakistan Army in 1971.  Can a man with iota of common sense believe that? In 1971, the total population was 75 million. If out of 75 million 3 million are killed, then 1 man out of every 25 must have been killed. If a village had 1,000 people, out of them at least 40 should have been killed. If none killed in that village, 80 people must be killed in the next village to keep the killing rate to that proportion. Bangladesh has about 68 thousand villages crisscrossed by rivers, canals, huge water bodies. Some are tiny island in the midst of several miles wide mighty rivers, some are in the Bay of Bengal and some are on the hill tops of Chittagong. Could Pakistan army reach even 10 % of these villages? Most of these villages were not accessible by army jeeps or any speed boats. Some were not accessible even on feet, needed boats. I am myself from a village of Bangladesh. I know that in my village, and also in the surrounding villages, the Pak Army never arrived.  

To make a death toll of 3 million, it needs to kill 11,111 per day. The Pakistan army had only 35,000 fighting men -as mentioned by Gen Niazi in his book. The number of Pakistanis taken as prisoners of war included thousands of non-Bengali civilians and their families. If these army men roamed in these 68 thousand villages to kill 11, 111 per day, who were to guard more than 4000 mile long border and to keep law and order in cities?  Even a habitual liar will hesitate to air such unbelievable lie. But Sheikh Mujib and his crony judges thought that others will be thoughtless too, to swallow this mindless fabrication. Even the Bengali Chief Justice Hamdur Rahman of Pakistan Supreme Court labelled the number altogether fantastic and fanciful in his enquiry report on the events of 1971 in East Pakistan.

Any country-wide counting on deaths could have easily exposed the level of shameful falsification; hence Sheikh Mujib and the successive governments did not take any such initiative to humiliate their leaders. They found it convenient to circulate the same lie every day and night to vilify Pakistan and justify all their own atrocities against the Islamic people and non-Bengalies who supported unity of Pakistan. They thought it very useful to nourish anti-Pakistan hatred among the people of Bangladesh. This is one of key strategy of Indians to keep two former wings far away from one another. This way the Indian agents inside Bangladesh are constantly blocking any initiative of normalisation of relation with Pakistan.

In their verdict, the ICC judges mentioned of 400, 000 thousand case of rapes by Pak Army in 1971. To sell that lie they thought it helpful to quote the figure from Susan Brownmiller –an US pseudo researcher and Jewish propagandist. The judges failed to understand that any repackaging of lies with judicial covering does not increase its worth; lie still remains lie. They quoted Susan Brownmiller to make their lie trustworthy and saleable. Susan Brownmiller did not conduct any field survey in Bangladesh to establish her figure on rape. The judges here bring another solid proof of their inability of making any sound comprehension of any narratives. They look vulnerable to pick up any supportive lie to incorporate in their judicial verdict. And that exactly happened in the case against Moulana Abul Kalam Azad. The prosecution picked up 22 witnesses, of the 21 are Hindu -who committed Awami partisans. They were tutored to tell the staff that the judges needed to announce death sentence against Moulana Azad. It appears from the judgement, the judges were not only convinced for such a conviction prior to hearing any prosecution witness, but also thought it a political necessity to do so. 

In 1971, family size of a Bengali family was of about four. So 75 million people of former East Pakistan would have made 1,875,000 households. To make a figure of 400, 000 cases of rapes, out of 47 (exact figure 46.8) households, one household must have a raped woman! In those days, since more than 80 % people lived in villages, and more than 90% villages were not accessed by the army, most of the rapes must have occurred among urban women. So, to make the figure of 400,000 rapes, the rate of rape couldn’t be 1 in 47 in urban households, rather many folds higher.  It is the height of nonsense that has been included in the ICC judgement! How a high court judge can swallow such a huge lie? Where is their judgemental acumen?

But alas! Very few people in Bangladesh could notice that. The whole country is inundated by lies. Most of the academics, jurists, columnists and politicians repeat the same lie day and night. In schools and colleges, the students are taught the same lie of three million deaths and a quarter million rapes. Thus the educational institutions are turned into lie industry. And the country is still waiting for other ICC products of the same lie.  03/02/13
