Emergence of Communal Taliban

By Zaheerul Hassan

The culmination of WW–II gave birth to cold war which led to USSR Invasion and her ultimate disintegration. The dissolution of Soviet Union produced Taliban and Al- Qaeda. It is worth mentioning here that former President Bush invited their top brass at White House and addressed them as war lords. But after the couple of years these conquerors converted themselves into worst enemies of Washington. Now the Question arises that why US has stopped supporting her comrades just after disintegration of USSR?   Would it be taken as a move of her   planned strategy of getting strong control over Asian region in the absence of Taliban and promoting India as regional power against China? Or Americans never wanted to have another pure Islamic Afghan state under the supervision of Taliban and indirectly safeguarding Iranian Interests in the region and keeping Saudi Arabia in limbo. Any how restricting myself on the topic, let’s evaluate that in a very short span of the time, how Talbinization was promoted and encircled around the complete world. Taliban appeared on the scene as a result of Al-Qaeda.

USA via CIA originally backed the Islamic guerrilla against the Marxist regime and Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the late 1970s and 1980s. Its efforts increasingly focused on a hard-line faction which was to spawn al-Qaeda in 1987-88. The situation further aggravated and led to disintegration of Soviet Union and birth of Talibanization.

The term Talbanization has been introduced by the Western anti Islamic forces. But the cancer of Talibanization spread rapidly instead of its death. The fast growth of this cancer was because of world economic disorder. Such type of extremism concept can progress swiftly in the society where general masses are poor, social injustice prevails; ethical and moral corruption is on its peak. The deliberation of said factors reveals that theory of Talibanization in various forms/names is already prevailing world and the believer of this concept is known as “Talib’.  Its meaning is “one who is seeking religious knowledge." It is an Arabic word equally good to be used for students of all religions. Most of the Taliban remain stingy in advocating and implementing their own ideas and thoughts over others .This aspect is common in extremist classes of all the religions. Afghan and Pakistani Taliban have bought such type of ideas from the extremist groups of others religions. Therefore, religious extremist groups of Jewish, Hinduism, and Christianity also gained strength and converted them into Communal Taliban. In some of the countries these communal Taliban are being supported and backed by their respective countries and intelligence agencies.  In this connection Jewish and Hindu Taliban are on the top of the list in Middle East and South Asia .Their collaboration is the world most dangerous one and notorious for brutality.

Norm Dixon writes in his cover Story, “How the CIA created Osama bin Laden” that between 1978 and 1992, the US government poured in at least US $6 billion (some estimates range as high as $20 billion) worth of arms, training and funds to prop up the mujaheddin [in Afghanistan]. Other western governments as well as oil-rich Saudi Arabia kicked in as much again. Wealthy Arab fanatics, like Osama bin Laden, provided millions more.  Washington's favoured mujaheddin faction was one of the most extreme, led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.  Osama bin Laden was a close associate of Hekmatyar and his faction. Dixon further stressed that glowing praise of the murderous exploits of today's supporters of arch-terrorist bin Laden and his Taliban collaborators, and their holy war against the “evil empire”, was issued by US President Ronald Reagan on March 8, 1985. The “evil empire” was the Soviet Union, as well as Third World movements fighting US-backed colonialism, apartheid and dictatorship.

The Dixon cover story, CIA, Mossad, RAW and RAAM actions are no more secrets for the world now. These agencies promoted terrorism all over the world.  The series of dreadful terrorist acts or conspiracies were always found connected with the said agencies, whenever investigations were carried out truthfully.

The case of former RAW agent Col Prohit is yet to be solved. He was involved in clashes between Hindu and Christian communities in Orissa and blasting Samjhota Express. Hindu Taliban in August 2008 killed hundred Christians which led to the displacement of thousands of people from their homes. Institutions run by Christian communities have been targeted.  Families who were hiding in the forest since the violence broke out are now taking refuge in relief camps, mostly set up in school buildings, which are becoming more and more crowded. The involvements of the Col Prohit in communal violence was exposed by an honest Hindu Police officer Karkarya but unfortunately has been murdered by the Indian security agencies during Mumbai Drama. The wife of Karkarya is still waiting for the justice.

The number of communal violence cases against minorities has made India prone to the extremists. The Hindu Taliban is real threat to her integrity. Muslims, Sikhs and Christians living in India cannot perform their religious obligations. 123 armed movements are in action and fighting for their rights of self determination. Tamils, Sikhs, Maoists and Kashmiries are all out to snatch their legal rights .Indian government instead of taking notice of her communal violence are terribly busy in creating instability in the neighbouring countries. CIA with tacit support of RAW is utilizing criminal Talibans against Pakistan. Our security forces are successfully busy in the surgery of Talibanization. At the same time question comes in the mind that whether India would be able to fight her communal Taliban as Pakistan did. I think it would be difficult rather impossible for the so called secular country (India) to deal with her communal problem. It is mentionable here that Indian forces deployed on the border are committed in all kind of crimes from minor theft to murder. According to the media reports on 30th May two innocent Kashmiri young Muslims girls were abducted and raped by the elements of security forces. Later on their bodies have been recovered from a stream.  Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, led thousands of men, women and children in Shopian, the hometown of the two women, and chanted anti-India slogans including “blood for blood” and “we want freedom”. Forensic tests also confirmed that girls were raped. It is not the first case, on the night of 3 and 4 December, 2008 at around 12:00 A.M. Indian troops of 36 RR and 146 Battalion CRPF barged in the house of Mohammad Abdullah Khatana in south Kashmir village at Dandipora, Kokernag. The troops who were six in number asked them to switch off the lights before breaking the bolt of the main entrance. While narrating the incident the father of the victim said,” we were locked in a room after thrashing me and my brother in law who also stays with us. After locking us in one room they took the victim in another room. The four troop’s gang raped the 17-year girl for an hour, while other two were guarding us”.  In fact Indian Army is in the habit of repeating such type of violence against the innocent public.  According to Indian National Human Rights Commission, there were 1,039 cases of human rights violations ( which include, rapes, terrorizing, abduction , killing of innocent women, children youngsters & communal violence)  by the security forces from 1990-1999, an average of 109 per year. I would also like to reveal here that no downward trend in crime ratio have been noticed so far. The indecent activities against the innocent agitators almost raised up to100%. If we consider it reduced by 50 % even then figures will be quite alarming for the international community. Indian Ministry of Defence reported that it filed 17 rape cases against army personnel whereas media reported 20 cases of rapes from 2003-2004 and by adding 50 % per annum will make this figure 100 till December, 2009. In September, 2007 a Major General faced the allegations of sexual harassment. Maj Gen A K Lal, removed as commander of the strategically-located 3 Infantry Division at Leh in September 2007 after a woman officer accused him of "misconduct" and "misbehaviour" and held that he should be dismissed from service. There are reports that till to-date only two or three rape cases have been concluded so far in a guilty verdict.

Ball Thakraya is the chief of Indian Taliban. He has full support of Extremist elements present in Armed Forces and RAW. Indian government must have a tight control over these Hindu Communal Talibans., otherwise they should be ready for ultimate demise of India.

It is also notable here that communal Taliban are also present in Christian and Jewish society. Israel state herself is a type of Talibanization, where as the differences in Catholics and Protestants are not hidden. The pushing out of Asians from England is an example of Talibanization in their so called civilized society. The racial discrimination between black and white is a touchy aspect of American society. However, there is a need to curb these communal Taliban for permanent peace. The world community should condemn the state Talibanization of India and Israel.
