Hats off to the Baluchistan High Court & Hats off to Gen Ashfaq Kiyani on Kerry Lugar Bill              

Dear Editor: Assalamo Alaikum.

There is an eye for an eye and there is a life for life. Quran-e-Majeed clearly says that there is a life in giving due punishment. Efficient and appropriate punishment discourages crimes and saves life.

Hats off to Baluchistan High Court for ordering registration of case against Musharraf and arrest of Musharraf! No person is above law. No person or persons are allowed to kill people without trial and giving due chance to the persons to be killed. The constitution is very clear about it. Neither President of Pakistan nor President of USA is morally and ethically allowed to kill people; simple and period. If Mush considered Bugti a criminal, he should have tried him in the court but he did not do and abused the state power to kill him; and then be publicly showing his pride just like he did over Karachi carnage on May 12^th.

Similarly Pervez Ashfaq Kiyani and Core Commanders rejection of Kerry Lugar Bill is a great sign. I hope that our armed forces will continue this healthy moment of rejecting the dictations of so called super powers.

In total sincerity of Armed Forces of Pakistan, Islamic Republic of Pakistan and all citizens of Pakistan, I would like to make two following important requests to the command of Pakistan Army:  

1)   Hold a court martial of Gen (Retired) Pervez Musharraf on the following charges:

a.    He violated his Military oath and his commitment to Armed forces when he entered politics

b.   He abused armed forces for overthrowing elected Prime Minister, President, all four provincial assemblies and National Assembly and respective Federal and Provincial Governments thus violating the mandate of 140 millions of Pakistanis

c.    He created significant ill feelings among citizens of Pakistan against Armed Forces due to his unconstitutional and illegal actions

d.   He went on killing spree of innocent citizens beginning with murder of advocate Iqbal Ra’d who had publicly said that he would  prove in the court that plane hijacking was a Musharraf drama. In the recent past the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan confirmed this when it found Nawaz Sharif not guilty in this case.

e.    He attacked the Supreme Court of Pakistan and committed worst ever terrorist contempt of the court

f.     He falsely accused his own hand picked Prime Minister and Core Commanders in his personal crimes against the State and the Supreme Court. This created further ill feelings among public toward Armed Forces.

2)   Implement Hamoodur Rehman Report in letter and sprit. The Fall of Dacca is the worst chapter in the Islamic History. A thorough inquiry was made in the causes of this tragedy which resulted in loss of our beloved East Pakistan and brought shame to the Armed Forces as well as to the State of Pakistan and its people. The brave and alive nations learn from their past mistakes and even the mistakes of others. Alas we did not prove to be brave and alive. The Hamoodur Rehman report which is a painstaking but excellent job was totally ignored as if we do not want to learn the lessons and are thus ready to have (Allah forbid) a similar tragedy in future.

I am sure that these two steps will tremendously boost the image, credibility, respect and love of the Armed Forces in public which will strengthen its functioning both in peace and war. This will Inhsa Allah also prevent Pakistan from such mishaps in future.

I would request the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan to begin hearing the cases pending against Musharraf on the charges of Terrorist Contempt of Court on 3^rd November and High treason. In the former case it does not require initiation by the Federal Government at all. A perfect and exemplary punishment will stop the growth and breeding of monsters like Pervez Musharraf in future.

In the end I must express my sympathies to the American and other Universities where Mush is teaching them lessons. You can imagine what he must be teaching them out of his practical experiences; how to hijack plane, how to topple elected Governments, how to hold fraudulent referendum, how to attack honorable courts!
