The human body is a master piece of biology there are may organs in the human body each performing in each specific function allowing us to eat, sleep, play and study and perform important function of life .Human body is made up of million of cells ,cells with specific structure and function are joined together to form a tissue and tissue join together to form a organ.

Most people are born with a full set of organs which work properly throughout their lives but everyone is not that lucky some may face organ failure which may lead to major problem in future as every organ is specific for its function therefore organ failure means loss of that function of the body. If the organ fails the most common treatment these days is organ transplantation i.e replacing that organ with a healthy one so that the body may work normally
Kidney failure is one of the most common problem people are facing these days about 100 years ago people could not even think of organ transplantation but now every 27 mins somewhere in the world there is organ transplantation taking place
Ć In 1954 Dr.Joseph E.Murphay in Bostin USA made first kidney transplant
Ć In 1962 another group in Boston USA made a big victory transplanted a kidney from a dead person. The kidney worked for 21 months that was a big achievement
Ć In 1966 first successful transplant of pancreas (a organ that makes hormones & digestive enzymes) by Dr.Strazl
Ć 1967 first successful transplant of liver
Ć 1980 Dr.Norman & DRr.Bruce at Stanford University carried out first heart and lung transplant
Ć 1988 Dr.David first successful transplant of small intestine

¡§The most exciting thing when you are working as a transplant surgeon is when you have put the organ in the body you take a small brown ,cold ,insignificant little thin with all the blood washed it out from the box you put it in your patient connect the blood vessels and when turns pink and expands a new life¡¨
Anne M.Walter Consultant Renal Transplant
Weesex Renal Transplant

Ć 1967 Dr.Cristain Branard made the first artificial heart for human body which worked of 18 days in the human body

Although these transplants went well but there are a major problem which need attention and the doctors start working on that it was the rejection problem by the newly transplanted organ the if the body accepts that organ then its well and good otherwise problems
To solve this problem there was only two ways either the donor and recipient match or they make a medicine which could stop the rejection process so the doctors started their work right away
Ć 1972 Jean Borel in Switzerland found out tht cyclosporine can prevent the rejection of the new organ in the recipient organ
ƒÜ 1980 ¡¥ Wonder molecule¡¦ synthesized
Ć 1983 it was approved for both clinical and commercial use

Another major problem
After this problem is solve there was another major problem that is there were more recipient and less donor now when a person dies its organ can still be used but at that time their relatives are in so much grief that they do not allow the doctors to take the organs also the Gov. also puts that the relatives or he himself give the willness to donate his organs to slove this problem the Gov. introduced a ¡§DONAR CARD¡¨

Through this card any person gives his/her willnes that in case of sudden death his organs can be taken out for transplantation

¡§Carrying a donor card is like a credit card ,except that you are offering other people the chance of life I wish everyone carries one¡¨

¡§And if one saved a life it would be like he saved a whole people¡¨
Quran Ch.5 V.32

¡§Organ donation is an altruistic act which is motivated by the compassion and sense of social responsibility Christians should generally be encoughred to reflect on how they help those in need even after their death¡¨

Bishop of Rochestor

¡§Buddhist totally agree with organ transplantation it is quite acceptable act¡¨

Xenotransplantaion
It is a new kind of transplantation in which the organs form the animals are transplanted to the human body mostly baboons and pigs are used ( amazingly the anatomy of pig is almost the same as human)
Ć 1906 French surgeon Mathiew Jaboulen implemented a pigs kidney in one and goat in another but both died
Ć 1992 two patient with baboons kidney died after operation
The deaths are not due to high amount of virus in the animal body otherwise it is a suitable way coz the pigs reproduce so quickly and the rate of rejection is also very less
This technique did not worked more due to high virus in the animal

The Pluripotent Stem Cell
The doctor and the scientist are now looking forward for a new technique trying make the organs by themselves in the labs by human embryonic stem cells taken from some aborted pregnancy or by the umbilical cord
Ć 1988 ripples of excitement through medical world two American scientist culture human Embryonic stem cell
But there was an ethical stumbling bock in this progress the US Gov has even banned this research work due to some religious group because they think that the baby can not give any kind of permission for its cell to be used moreover it made some religious differences
Ć 2000 first artificial heart is used by Jarvik and the patient lived for 5 months that is really a big achievement
Lets see how the science progress in the organ transplantation to make the life of people better.
