Palestine State: Fatah-Hamas Unity Depends on Abbas
Time has Run-out for Fascist Israel in Mideast (Part -82)
Egypt & Palestine Unity-3
DR. ABDUL RUFF
_______
The Unity agreement by Palestinian factions after 4 years of quarrel, mediated by Egypt, is the reflection of the aspirations of Palestinians for unity. Fatah and Hamas had been close to a deal last year but Hamas withdrew, saying the terms had been revised without its agreement. Betrayed by Israel and USA, Abbas has since been pushing for reconciliation.
Since the West and Israel ill-focus on any reconciliation between Fatah and ruling Hamas, the unity move initiated by the Egyptian intelligence would also likely to fail if Fatah and Hamas refuse to comprehend the anti-Palestine climate in the region and try to forge alliance with enemies.
Like everywhere, America still controls the peace course in Mideast by moving its coin carefully in Israel, Palestine and Arab world. USA and Israel expect their “ally” PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas functioning as a pro-West operative in Palestine to obey the CIA-Mossad directives on peace talks. When Israeli leaders criticized the unity move, Abbas has tried to downplay such concerns, saying that Fatah would remain Israel's negotiating partner and that there would be no Hamas representatives in the new government. Furthermore, he promised not to release any Hamas prisoners a part of unity agreement, trying to play a passive partner in peace talks.
Ruling Hamas Party has been targeted by the West and Israel, just like the NAT terror syndicate is destabilizing sovereign Libya ad many other Muslim nation. Israeli and western leaders have misused Fatah party leader M. Abbas to create permanent rift between the two factions in occupied Palestine fighting each other like jungle monkeys. Abbas and his Fatah party have a duty before their nation and hence come forward to make up with Hamas government for a unity government and oversee the elections. Since Hamas is an Islamic party, all anti-Islamic terrocracies in the West killing Muslims in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya and Iraq hate it. But Fatah should recognize Hamas government and take it as genuine organization with witch it must jointly struggle for freedom. Deadly divisions in Palestine have done more harm for themselves and PLO than the mere arrogance of Zionist regime.
With an absolute fascist mindset, the Zionist regime wants to kill every Palestinian, especially those who support Hamas and opposes the latest Fatah-Hamas unity Israel as much as USA is worried that Hamas is more religious and popular among Palestinians and other Arabs than Fatah and has tremendous following among Palestinians. When Hamas first contemplated Oslo, they concluded that it had aspects which seemed to them to be a reflection of classic US counter insurgency practice, borrowed from Viet Nam. At this point, Hamas took the decision to protect the Palestinian option of resistance. It was not easy in Gaza especially in the aftermath of the PLO return from Tunis; but they believed they had succeeded in keeping the option open to the Palestinian people, as one senior Hamas leader explained to me. “We believe we have kept the option in West Bank, too – although that has not been easy either”.
Defeated in the poll, Abbas deliberately allowed the West and Israel to use him against Hamas party and government. In creating another government in West bank, following the civil war between Fatah and Hamas engineered by the West-Israeli operatives in Palestine, the West and Israel tactfully used a weakened PLO, Abbas and Fatah party to weaken the Hamas party and wreck the elected government. With USA, the Palestinian Authority laid out the extent of its cooperation with Israel in a confidential memo they gave Senator George Mitchell in June 2009. Among the actions they highlighted: Arrested approximately 3,700 members of armed groups; Summoned around 4,700 individuals for questioning about various offenses, including affiliations with armed groups; Confiscated over 1,100 weapons; Seized over 2,500,000 NIS belonging to armed groups; Confiscated numerous materials used to incite violence.
The Fatah party of the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas - which runs parts of the West Bank - and Hamas, which governs Gaza, have been divided for more than four years. USA-Israeli gang saw to it the Palestine security apparatus was used against Hamas and lavishly founded and equipped as extensions of the Israeli security services: its members vetted, and approved, solely on the basis of their personal hostility towards Hamas. Abbas and the West were engaged in building a new ‘police state’ meanwhile the Palestinian security apparatus practiced torture as a state policy. Economic aid was directed – not so much at ensuring the long term economic development of Palestinians – but rather, at creating a popular dependency and vulnerability that served to contain public dissent. The the Abu family, the emerging economic oligarchs – facilitated by Europe and the US – have enabled Washington to stitch together close commercial collaboration with Israel, as well as to mesh it to wider security objectives. This reflects long-established US methodology of so-called "counter-insurgency", whereby the security bosses evolve into commercial oligarchs. Aid was coopted to buy public acquiescence to a project intended to convey West Bankers into a more commodious form of occupation. Occupation is nonetheless a remotely operated occupation, whose more visible aspects would be tidied out of sight – and which would no longer rub salt onto the sores of the Palestinians.
West and Israel are hopeful that they could manipulate the Fatah party and Abbas against unity and let them join the anti-Hamas campaigns. Earlier, M. Abbas changed sides, and identified himself unreservedly with Israel in a ‘full-spectrum’ war against Hamas. Abbas’ changed allegiance is reflected in the exchange between Abbas and prime minister Ariel Sharon at the latter’s Jerusalem residence in June 2005. Zionist leaders considered him a friend and Abbas reciprocated it and jointly criticized Iran. To further proving his allegiance to US-Israeli fight against Hamas and Iran, Abbas led Palestinian Authority has, according to its own records, killed its own people (both independently and with Israeli forces), arrested thousands of people, tortured suspected Hamas supporters, and suppressed religious activity. The so-called mission of “establishing rule of law” has become a mere codeword for suppressing Hamas, the Islamist organization that won elections in 2006. From 2001 until present, the Palestinian security forces went from being accused by Israel and the West of complicity in terrorism against Israel, to terrorizing their own society.
So, there is justification if Hamas foresees revisionism of Abbas. When US-Israeli fascist leaders put pressure on Abbas and Fatah party to stop unity move mediated by Egypt, Abbas plays cool by not offending the Western/Israeli trouble makers in Mideast
Zionist regime keeps killing innocent Palestinians and calls them “terrorists”. Hamas’ main focus, now, is the mobilization of the Palestinian ‘nation’. They mean, by this, to mobilize Palestinians inside Palestine; to mobilize Palestinians living outside – in the Diaspora, and to include refugees. The revival and reform of pan-Palestinian national leadership institutions is seen as the only means of recovering any bargaining power.
Obama, like his predecessors, is insincere to resolve the explosive Mideast crisis. The Zionist snub is too heavy for an innocent looking Obama by refusing to freeze illegal proliferation of settlements that he has to now take recourse in drone terrorism in Libya and kill Muslims there and in Pakistan among whom one who resembles one Osama, presented by the terrorist global anti-Islamic media, as being responsible for plane exercises in nuclear shielded USA on Sept-11.Obama cannot reveal the whole truth about Sept-11 and who is this Osama otherwise known as a key CIA operative and how Osama was allowed to enter the US runways and take off three planes simultaneously hitting the CIA targets for fascist operations in Afghanistan ruled by Islamic government.
Media have generated enough Islamaphobia and hatred for Islam and believers and both India and Israel use the trend very effectively to reinforce their illegal occupation and genocides. Abbas must have realized that all Palestinians have one destiny and one nation and hence should purse a united struggle for establishing much delayed Palestine state. ----------
