As with the trial of Hadley, Mumbai terror attack is again in limelight, I would like to reproduce my three poems which were written at the time of this most tragic occurrence

An Elegy for  the Dead of Mumbai Terror

          ( December,2009 )

My  heart weeps in anguish  for the bereaved families,

Who lost  their  dear ones in the mad frenzy of terror ;

But my  head is  bowing to  the  gallantry of our  cops,

Who  resolved to  show  the real enemies in the mirror.

Those  seeking  power  through the  streams of blood,

For their timely success, may have the reason to rejoice;

But soon  will be left in the  lurch, as an isolated  group,

The world will  again hear the Indians, as a unified voice.

Oh the brave  soul of  Hemant Karkare !

Every    wave    touching    the    Indian   shores,

Will   always   echo   the   glory   of your   name.

The   peak  of  the   Everest  will   always   remit,

Bright  rays   with  the  fragrance  of  your  fame.

The breezes  blowing  from the  hills of  Kashmir ,

Will  spread  the  tales  of your mettle  and  frame.

Your   wife   is  truthful  to your  dignity  and  role,

She  buried   Modi  under  the  mounds  of  shame.

 Baying for your blood, as you unmasked their face,

Now paying the price of your life –they are the same.

Hindutwa  Brigade’s  Thanksgiving  To Mumbai Terrorists

Our present and future generations  will remain,

 Under the burden of your  marvelous deed.

You saved us from the ruthless  onslaught,

Launched by the enemies of our creed .

 People like Hemant wanted to reveal our face,

Your bullets rescued us  in the time of our need.

He was trying to malign the Hindutwa cause,

To our warnings, he never  paid  any heed.

We started the crusade for the glory of our race,

For that, in Ayodhya, we sowed the first seed.

You are our brothers, know our goal , !

In thought and mission, we are the same breed.

We are faithful to our aim, you are to yours ,

Under the guise of religion, we have power’s greed.

Blessing for us was  your attack on Mumbai coast,

We will thrive , if  both sides profusely bleed .

We call you  terrorists, you call us infidels ,  

It is the best way, to each other we can feed .

Against Muslims, now we will be the naked sword,

The tale of our terror will be washed, none can read.

If in future, any Karkare pursues this reckless job,

Our  friends!, you  please come with the same speed.
