What is there in a name?
Names could be misleading or confusing when used by self-interested people for specific purposes. People give or change their name to essentially mislead the society and ruling circles. In India, for instance, many Christians prefer to have Hindu NAMES FOR FOOLING THE MAJORITY HINDUS AND GAIN FAVORS. Both males and females from Christean community use Hindu names and external religious gimmicks for obvious reasons. Some Muslims ALSO DO THE SAME by promoting ADDITIONAL NAMES FOR THE SAME PURPOSES OR AT LEAST FOR political or SOCIALIZATION PURPOSES. Many Muslims think in a multicultural society like India Muslims should hid either identity pose themselves to be secular by keeping non-Muslim sub-names or promoting Hinduism norms so that interfaith takes some shape in favor of majority and against Islam. Hotels run by Muslims in non-Muslim areas sport a neutral name board or non-Islamic name only to attract the local customers. Examples are plenty to show where Muslims intentionally hide their religious identity; some of them in India even feel ashamed of disclosing their Muslim names for funny reasons. Hindus do not feel ashamed of telling their names and castes. One can understand if a Muslim forcefully offers a name denoting the enemy's region for life-security purposes. However, that is not the case. But ALL THESE disguises are essentially is mischief and when Muslims use Hindu or Christian names for whatever purposes it amounts to mischief on Islamic faith particularly in Muslim nations. It is not just a matter of hypocrisy but perhaps unIslamic too! --------
