India National Awards Criterion: Personal integrity and selfless service to nation
-DR. ABDUL RUFF
_____
If awards are given to people only to motivate them to get more awards, then, entire exercise is a misconceived notion and if the theme is focus on new comers to learn form the awardees, that is just n another mischief played on the notion.
In India a major contemporary terrocracy promoting fanatic elements at national and regional levels, awards are given as a routine habit to appease a few individuals and their agencies.
Awards of national importance are akin to the so-called honorary doctorates bestowed and shared among big guys on exchange program. Character of the personality and the patriotic contribution - not on payment basis- the award seekers posses are important to consider because these guys after the awards are supposed to be model citizens to influence others positively. Being "better than others" not criterion to select persons for Republic day awards. The positive contribution towards society and people though hard work cannot be sidelined while discussing the names.
For instance, government and sports ministry spends huge resources on sport persons and create wide international network to pursue sport achievements and sport fixings. hen the winners are paid huge sums and awards- why? Whom does India try to impress by these award gimmicks?
Year after year Indian regime by some familiar process of elimination very religiously pick up some favorites for national awards of varying levels and categories ostensibly for their "contribution" to their respective fields, ignoring the vital aspect of personal integrity or the nature of selfless service to nation in a sustained manner. This practice is akin to regular polls conducted to claim legitimacy for the misgovernance and crimes.
In every filed, Indian government has instituted awards at the national level for promoting award seekers and the special national awards also including all these institutions for distributing awards as a ritual. In fact, the general practice is to consider all awards "managed" by the aspirant candidates in their respective institution for the special national awards.
Obviously, this is futile, futile and bogus exercise, generating a wide network of mafias to canvas for their candidates for the presidential awards. .
Question is: how many of those who have been awarded the national Republic day prizes are worth the call and real stuff of national pride?
People make wealth in all possible ways and almost buy awards in India. Many award winners have become exposed as rogues later.
Pharatratna should the ultimate goal any constructive creator who serves the nation selflessly. Such people are not there in India.
Indian mafias have been pestering the regime to post of Pharatratna cricketer S. Tendulakar who has amassed runs on immoral means, including "give and take" and "exchange of 100 plus" between the select batboys form each team according to some fake formula. Now a days, the bowlers refuse to let him make merry at the crease and remove him very early with a few runs.
This year the Indian ministry of sports announced that they have for the first time in years abandoned Sachuin Tendulkar, considered by many including in the sports and other ministries as a major Hindu god with large networks of "devotees", worshipers, supporters, mafias , advertisers, etc, from their recommendation list for the prestigious award of Pharatratna- a move that has shocked the major media outlets and lords.
If the best model citizens are not available, do not award the favorites the prizes and just wait for the time.
Better do away with such national awards of select people, when really committed people are ignored, if available, by the selectors and others.
The issue of national awards is as grievous as the occupation of alien Jammu Kashmir plus the ongoing brutalitiess perpetuated by the paid state terrorists and their agents there.
Many people work for the success of one individual in almost every field and that person loots all money, fame and awards. Take any field, hundreds of people labor while one person takes the entire credit. When a team works how can nation offer prestigious awards to select guys? Is it the right way of national behavior towards citizens?
Should entertainments like cricket where "fixing" and collective operations are in vogue, be treated as prestige of a nation? ,
Meanwhile, Sachuin should surrender the awards he has managed so far to the government.
Alternatively, the state can also scrap ll this meaningless awards confiscate the all awards. After all both central and regional governments have instituted awards for "talents".
For national awards as republic day gifts every regional state, various institutions among other recommend people of of their choice to the central government for awarding "prizes" and they all do this exercise secretly without letting the people know about it even after the states send the list of award seekers.
If the state and central governments keep the possible persons being considered for the awards of all categories, people would debate the issue and could approve or even add new names perhaps better then the ones being groomed by the states, various ministries and central government itself.
Indian intelligence teams should ascertain worth of people whose lucky names being finalized for various awards are genuine and they do deserve the coveted prize over others.
Any process that does not involve people's participation is illegal and immoral. Considering the people only as bank banks and denying their participation in suggesting names is also immoral.
An observation
Secrecy is eating away the bone of democracy in all terrocracies, including India, USA, UK and Israel.
It is high time policy of transparency is adopted as a state policy to inform the public about all policies of the government. After all other nations know every thing about Indian secrets and policy of secrecy, but Indians are denied that privilege. Their job is only to vote standing n long queses?
In place of oath of office and secrecy, the rulers must take oath on transparency so that people can partake in state endeavors. .
India must announce the probables for national awards in advance so as to generate useful debate. State governments also must intiate discussion on their selections.
