Shame, shame, shame and shame on all of you

It is 1615 hours my time and 1815 hours Pakistan time on Sunday 8th April, 2012 when I am writing second time on our avalanche tragedy which killed 135 soldiers early yesterday morning in Siachen and not a single survivor or for that matter even a dead body has been found though practically speaking two days (yesterday & today) have been spent on rescue operations without any tangible success and as the time is passes on chances are touching even below zero possibility for any survival. Needless to mention it is already night time in Siachem so from practical point of view due to darkness in the area rescue operations must had been halted at least an hour ago and the same cannot be re-started earlier than 12 hours later which means that the chances of any human survival will well below zero or it will be foolish to find someone surviving under 70- degree temperature. So what are we waiting for?

How come none has even condoled till now? I have been watching live tv coverage of President Asif Ali Zardari from Ajmer Sharif, India and surprisingly he did not pray for these departed souls at the shrine (dargah) so what type of President is he? An hour later I saw live tv coverage of Imran Khan addressing a public gathering in Abottabad and he too did not mention a word about these 135 shaheeds but why and how he could be so much unconcerned? Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani though is too proud to be very loudly claimed that he is the only elected PM who has completed 4 years in office but regretfully yet he is dead silent in Siachin tragedy. Mian Nawaz Sahrif who twice had been prime minister and now trying for 3rd as well and from morning till night he boasts of nothing less than caring for Pakistanis is also very much unconcerned about those who lost their lives under heavy snow. Altaf Hussain who not only pulls strings but also pulls crowds of both men and women alike while sitting in London is as mum as if he is dead. Maulana Fazal ur Rehman who has been aspiring since long to be somewhat number one or number two in the power corridor has not spoken either about the same lot. Gen ® Pervez Musharraf who wishes to be again President of Pakistan has not proved better then the lot because till now nothing is heard from him also. Asfand Ali Yar have always tried to assert that he is the most patriotic Pakistani and if so then why did he not speak out on this unprecedented havoc. What does this all mean?

Belgium held one day national mourning on 16th March, 2012 when its 28 citizens including 22 children died in a road accident in Switzerland. Its national flag flew half mast and 1 minute silence was observed in the country as a mark of respect and honor towards those who innocents who lost their lives. Just keep a hand on your heart and then compare our so called leaders, both in power and those aspiring for powers, with those of Belgium and then decide who will get your vote. Needless to mention our people died because they were defending our borders while Belgians were not defending their country so there is hell of difference between the two incidents but ever since they have met such a tragic end that Belgium King could not help declaring national mourning but in our case we have still not issued a condolence message which is already written and available on 24 hours basis in any case.

Belgium holds a day of national mourning for bus crash victims

BRUSSELS, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Belgium held a day of national mourning on Friday for the victims in a fatal bus accident that occurred in southwest Switzerland on Tuesday night.

Flags were lowered to half-mast in public buildings across the country, which observed a minute of silence at 11:00 (1000 GMT), when buses, metros and trains all halted, followed by long ringing of church bells.

In Stekske primary school of Lommel, whose students were among the victims, flowers, candles and toys were piled on the playground and blue balloons were tied to railings in memory of the dead.

"I can feel the heart-broken pain of their parents, though I do not have a child of my own," said one resident of the small town Dutch-bordered Lommel, which is a close-knit community.

Meanwhile, in St Lambertus in Heverlee near Leuven, another school of the victims, children and teachers expressed their mourn flying white balloons after the minute of silence.

According to local media, two military planes carrying the bodies, which had been identified by Thursday, had reached Melsbroek military airport in Belgium.

The report that the driver of the bus was trying a change a disc on the bus' entertainment system shortly before the deadly crash still has not yet been confirmed by investigators.
