Ahmadinejad invites Morsi to non-aligned meet in Iran

Currently the Non-Aligned Movement is holding a summit in Tehran.

Ignoring the pressure tactics of Israel and its American bosses, representatives of nearly 120 nations, including dozens of heads-of-state, have convened in Tehran for a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement. US-Israel terror twins even threatened Iran. Nonetheless 15O countries were expected to be at the talks including Australia as an observer and the 116 members of the alliance, along with the Secretary General of the UN.

The meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran for the moment impedes the execution of the intent by Israel and the dictatorial US power and its terror sally Israel to bomb Iran, supposedly for seeking to develop nuclear weapons.

The Non-Aligned movement is a group of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.  Till 2011, the movement had 120 members and 17 observer countries.

The Non-Aligned Movement is a Cold War organization that was supposed to provide a forum for countries that were allied with neither the USA nor the Soviet Union. But since the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991 the group has struggled for both identity and clout. Now in post cold war scenario where both USA and Russia coordinate their terror and other operations against Muslim nations, the NAM members no more enjoy any free lift from Russia in terms of weapons and economic plus technology assistance as they used to do. .

The NAM is now more an economic alliance than it is a political one it is suggested that India will eventually have to make a choice between Iran and the US. Although a founding member, China withdrew from Non-Aligned Movement, while some others like India has retained its’ membership for the purposes of some national interests. For India, Iran is important as a source of 10% or 12% of its oil imports, which it pays in gold and access around Pakistan to Afghanistan and Central Asia. Exception has been granted to Indian oil imports from Iran in the sanctions imposed by the US.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has invited Egypt's first democratically elected president, Mohammed Mursi, to a summit of Non-Aligned countries to be held in Tehran Aug 29. Ahmadinejad congratulated Mursi on his win in the presidential elections last month. He called it "an Islamic awakening in the region" and urged stronger bilateral ties and friendship between the two nations. Ties between Cairo and Tehran were severed in 1980 after Iran's Islamic Revolution and Egypt's recognition of Israel. A popular uprising against former president Hosni Mubarak and Mursi's election ended six decades of rule by former military men. Mursi had said in an interview before his presidential victory that he planned to expand relations with Iran to “create a balance of pressure in the region”. However, Mursi’s spokesman subsequently denied the interview had taken place. Western powers have been trying to isolate Iran over its disputed nuclear program, which they suspect it is using to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran claims it is solely for civilian nuclear energy.

There have been conflicting reports about whether the leader of Iran's ally Hamas will attend the conference. Iranian news agencies say Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh has not been invited, but Haniyeh's office says he plans to attend. The office of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says he will not attend if Haniyeh takes part.

USA and its allies want the NAM to discuss Syria and make it most important issue in the Non-Aligned talks. With Iran's support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, it is likely that the Syrian crisis would be high on the agenda of the five-day conference. While Turkey attended the lead-up talks in Cairo, it said it would not be going to Tehran because of this issue.

Australia is represented as a non-member guest. The Opposition suggested that this helps to give Iran “greater international legitimacy”. Australia has officials permanently based in an embassy in Tehran.

At the opening ceremony on 27th August, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi called for NAM leaders to stand against Western sanctions imposed to punish Tehran for its nuclear activities. Salehi also urged NAM to take a stand against terrorism, especially of the state-sponsored type, and accused U.S., British and Israeli intelligence services of being involved in the murders of four Iranian nuclear scientists since 2010.

Why Israel does keeps bluffing that it wants to attack Iran? It could be a distraction from the cruel and unjust treatment of the Palestinians, killing these besieged human by Zionist blockades.

Sanctions on Iran, for that matter on nay country, should be considered an act of war, but not even when you are apparently following orders from big powers. The hypocrisy could not be more blatant. In some pretense of independence the Foreign Minister goes along with “the masters of the world” and imposes sanctions on Iran, but not Israel.

The CIA and Mossad are really scared that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad often uses international meetings to launch anti-Israel tirades. Senator Carr says he does believe it is “regrettable” that the summit is taking place in Iran and he this week announced new sanctions against Iran as part of a fresh push to pressure it into abandoning its nuclear program.
