What a typical theft in Kuwait!

I was awfully amazed to read today Thursday 13th December, 2012 in Arab Times which is Kuwait English daily that yesterday someone has stolen a horse from Wafra agricultural fields worth KD 300,000 equivalent to Pak Rs 103,437,036.

As a matter of fact on the face of it this is not that big news in any case simply because figure wise it is just one horse while from value stand point of view KD 300,000 is not that significant amount which needs any comments but yet I would to like comment on the same from variety of angles so that the whole subject is very easily digested by even a commoner. The theft itself is very typical which cannot be compared with other thefts neither in Kuwait nor in Pakistan, the country I belong to and not even in other countries be them in east, west, south or north. Before going to other details let me hurriedly talk about other type of thefts so that this particular theft can be better understood without any confusion and doubts. Animals are also stolen for sure not just at the present time but from time immemorial to be honest but still animal thefts are not that much common and frequent as compared to cash, gold, jewelry, car, wrist watch, electronics and mobile etc to name just a few.

When someone steals huge cash then he or she or even they will try to conceal and hide in a manner that none knows about it because if anyone else knows of the theft then the thief or thieves are exposing themselves to be caught up by police so either the cash is dug deep inside the ground or distributed within the inner most circle so that the huge amount does not remain as huge as before. Smaller amounts can easily be spent without alarming anyone but it is not so if the amount is huge and the person who has the cash is not compatible to the amount in question. In case of gold, diamonds and jewelry also the same practice is resorted to so that none gets slightest clue as to who has and what. Distribution of such like items makes them unnoticeable which is the inner wish of the thief in any case and in bulk majority of cases it is noticed that cash, gold, diamonds and jewelry were shared alike and often the criminals succeeded in their plans and those who lost cash and gold etc were left high and dry and nothing could be retrieved despite putting so many hectic efforts and spending money on police and detectives etc. At times gold, diamonds and jewelry was sold in pieces in different cities and on different dates so that secrecy is duly maintained and none is exposed. As regards other items like mobile, watch and electronics etc is concerned it as an admitted fact that some of these things if not all the things can be used by the thief himself or be gifted or sold to others without much risk in between.

Car theft has become too common during last few decades and there are many reasons for it. First of all it can be moved away from the owner within minutes and not hours depending upon the situation and location. Then the stolen car is painted with a different color meaning by black car be painted green so now the car is green color car. Then fake registration plate affixed on the stolen car makes it difficult to be recognized which as such helps the thief to ride it himself under certain conditions. However if it is felt that that thief may be hauled up then the easy method of disposal is to dismantle the car and sell its all the spare parts which will not only hide the theft but also earn money for the thief.

Now coming to the theft of the horse it will be observed that it is completely a very typical type of theft and the person so involved in it cannot be an ordinary simple brute person from any angle whatsoever rather he must come from a very strong and rich background. Such an expensive horse cannot be owned by an ordinary person meaning by that its owner must be having very long hands to lay on anyone who dares to steal the horse while the thief too cannot be any ordinary person either so from this point of view the owner and the thief are on almost equal footing. Now what the thief will do with the horse is a very baffling and mind boggling question? If the thief brings out the horse in open then the chances are that the horse can be identified and the thief can be caught up so this possibility is completely ruled out. Had it been an ordinary horse then it be deployed in a horse carriage to earn some money but this option is not possible at all. Now in the given situation there is no alternative but to keep the horse at some distant away place not only under lock and key but heavily guarded as well but the question is as to how does the thief get any benefit from the horse which is kept under chain? Did the thief happily commit the theft to increase his expense on feeding and guarding the horse? Such an expensive horse cannot be sold out to anyone so easily because there are not innumerous horses in Kuwait which are priced as high as KD 300,000 so all those who own such expensive horses know each other in any case so from exposure point of view it cannot be sold out for sure. Suppose it is a race horse which looks to be quite probable but then the question is where and when can it run when it is a stolen one? May be it is stolen for breeding purpose which possibly could be the reason but then the horse needs a mare to mate but she must be of similar stock like horse so that the top quality of breeding is achieved. It being a horse cannot be cut or distributed over some people as had been the case with cash and kind which means that the horse shall have to be all the time as one living piece repeat as one living piece alone.

Why did someone steal the horse? Who will answer to solve the riddle?
