Our batsmen proved better than bowlers

Heartiest greetings to Pakistan for so convincingly winning 1st One Day match against India by 6 wickets and therefore not only me but the whole nation congratulates each and everyone who contributed to achieve the victory for the country when we defeated our opponents at their home ground in Chennai.

However if we crtically and judiciously compare our bowlers with our batsmen we find that our bowlers gifted away so many runs to Indians because there are as many as 22 extra runs in India’s total of 227 runs whereas in return Indian bowlers gave away just 10 runs when Pakistan scored 228 and won the match. Truly speaking Indian batsmen scored only 205 (227-22=205) runs whereas our batsmen scored 218 (228-10=218) runs which very clearly prove that we batted far better than our opponents. Another plus point for our batsmen is that our only 6 batsmen came in the ground to score 228 runs whereas India had to send 9 players to bat to score 227 runs. If we count on team’s score average we find that Indian batsmen scored at the rate of 4.54 runs per over whereas Pakistani batsmen scored at greater speed scoring at 4.73 runs per over. If we look at the individual batsman scoring rate average per ball we see that only Dhoni, Indian captain recorded to 90 since he clocked 90.40 whereas for Pakistan 2 batsmen raced to 90 as Shoaib touched 97.14 followed by Younus showing the figure of 96.66.

The most commendable part of our batsmen is that they batted with full confidence and command despite the fact that their T-20 captain Hafeez was clean bowled at the time when neither he has scored a run nor Pakistan has a run on the scoreboard and honest to God under such odd conditions it needs very strong nerves to play and that too on opponent’s ground to come back to life. Needless to mention one could see how jubilant were Indians as millions roared in one voice seeing Pakistan T-20 captain going back to pavilion with nothing but a big zero. Hats off for Nasir Jamshed in particular who came as opener along with Hafeez and despite being hurt so badly to see his partner walking back he decided to steer come what may not only to earn laurels for him but for the country and this is what he eventually proved.
