Accused but of rare international fame or global entity bought for Rs 11,480

At the very outset I feel quite morally and legally bound to make it quite crystal clear without the least ambiguity and doubts that it is purely an academic effort and exposition on my part and, therefore, it must not be given any other color, meanings and or interpretation whatsoever than what is purely truly and judiciously intended by me since I am neither promoting killing nor protecting any criminal as one may construe it alike.

I am referring to the killing of Shahzeb Khan and I need not go into the details of the case simply because not only you but the whole Pakistan nation in particular and the rest world in general and therefore I will just briefly touch about the case without going into nitty-gritty of the said murder case. Shahzeb Khan just 20 years old was very savagely and brutally gunned down in Karachi on a very petty issue which was initially settled down after mutual discussion between the concerned parties but as the bad luck had it the killers came back to the house of the victim on 25^th December, 2012 night and gunned him right on the spot to the extent that Shahzed died before any medical assistance could save his life. Shahrukh Jatoi is one of the main accused who fired upon the unfortunate deceased person but one way or the other Shahrukh could manage to flee away from Pakistan to Dubai, UAE.

Shazeb Khan, the deceased is a son of a monthly paid employee of the government as he is working as Deputy Superintendent of Police whereas Shahrukh Jatoi is son of a very rich person who not only owns a big real estate in Pakistan but also has a very flourishing company in UAE as well so based on such hard facts there is no equation between the killer and the killed. The case had been shelved and frozen simply because the powerful killer is so much powerful that police did not show any courage to take legal actions despite the fact that such a gruesome crime had been committed but fortunately Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar himself took cognizance of the grimed situation and issued very strict orders that the killers must be arrested forthwith and its report be submitted to SC.  After such instructions police came into action and started going after the killers. Police raided many places in Karachi, Hyderabd and many places and in such pursuit police succeeded in arresting two accused of being directly involved in the killing but the 3^rd killer Shahrukh Jatoi had escaped to either Australia or Dubai as it was reported initially.

Shahrukh Jatoi flew to Dubai buying Karachi-Dubai-Karachi ticket (I found it today at net PIA) for Rs 7,500/ and paid Rs 3,980 (150 UAE dirham) to obtain entry visa for UAE which means he has spent total Rs 11,480 to be out of the country and land in Dubai. Now since Shahrukh landed in Dubai the case is known in UAE also which is an independent and sovereign country like Pakistan which means that the accused is known not only in Pakistan but UAE also. Pakistan media gave very prominent coverage to him whereby his name and photo had been shown on all different television channels whereas all newspapers too flashed him very prominently and it continued alike for so many days. Later on media succeeded in obtaining and showing passport photo copy of Shahrukh displaying page with the entry stamp in Dubai which as such proved that the accused had escaped from Pakistan and landed in Dubai. Senior high ranking police officers like DIG and SSP flew from Karachi to Dubai to arrest and bring him back but returned empty handed though they have met UAE police and others on the subject. Islamabad had contacted Interpol to help to get Shahrukh arrested and it did come into action and it was reported that after sometime upon completion of all the necessary documentation he could be arrested. Pakistan embassy, UAE too came into picture and our Ambassador H.E. Jamail had been personally involved in the case though there are many other junior diplomats to deal with any case but here our top most diplomat in UAE had to be active himself.

Eventually Shahrukh Jatoi after so many days gap in between he had been arrested and brought back to Karachi to defend himself in the killing case. Earlier at his own he has gone to Pakistan Embassy, UAE and surrendered himself saying that since his father and other family are being arrested and harassed and therefore he thought it prudent not be hiding anymore. He has said that he is innocent and he will prove his innocence when he appears before a court of law in Karachi. He has already landed in Pakistan at the time when I am writing these lines. I have no right to say anything on the merit of the case because it will be reviewed and seen by none but court of law.

Incidentally Shehbaz is not the 1^st killing case either in Karachi or in Pakistan and during the past long years many have been killed which included rulers, politicians, businessmen and even ordinary men and women but only just few case only had been projected at such wide scale within the country and overseas but there again there is no comparison between this murder case than other cases. I will quote just few cases to elucidate my point of view. Benazir Bhutto for example was killed which got international recognition but it must be remembered that she edges out other cases simply because she was none but our former prime minister, wife of our present president Asif Ali Zardar, daughter of our former president ZA Bhutto etc so if her killing was flashed over all over the world which she naturally commanded and demanded. Incidentally almost at the same time when Shahzeb was killed, Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Senior Minister, PK was killed on 22^nd December and it was flashed all over the country and overseas. He is also brother of present Railway Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour whereas the deceased was also a very prominent leader of ANP so his entity is far too above any person.

No denying the fact, had Shahrukh Jatoi not flown to UAE then he had never ever been become known globally as he has attained at the moment. It is also a hard fact that if he had been in Pakistan then he had been arrested and produced before a court of law then his name and photo had been in the press and media for a few days at the most and the accused Shahrukh would have been known within the country and not overseas but ever since he had been in UAE, he had achieved global famous. Spending of Rs 11,480 has proved magical to attain global fame and entity.
