Madras High Court upholds Tamil Nadu government ban on Kamal movie!

Indian mass media, including cinema, are bent upon tarnishing the already weakened image of Muslims and Islam. 

When Tamil Nadu government led by Ms. Jayalalithaa banned a Tamil movie by actor Kamal for objectionable anti Muslim content in the film, many eye brows were awkwardly raised in the fanatic media of speck provision, condemning the state for violating “freedom of speech” provision. Indian media – both print and non-print-  deliberately denies any chance for Muslims to express their views openly but the same media lords speak about freedom of speech insulting and terrorizing Muslims. These nuts consider the film ban as a strong doze of speech therapy.

When Kamal Hassan filed a case in the Madras High Court against the ban on his movie, the Court in an interim verdict lifted the ban which the TN state further contested against and got the stay order revoked.

Tamil Nadu government appealed in Madras High Court against the interim relief by seeking to vacate the stay the state ban on Kamal movie. Madras high Court has vacated the stay it had imposed earlier on the Tamil Nadu government ban of Kamal controversial movie in Tamil Nadu. Thus the state ban on the movie has stayed intact.

Meanwhile Kamal has threatened to leave Tamil Nadu and India if movie is banned but later said he has decided to resolve the issue amicably by editing the movie.  He also wanted to move the Supreme Court but later stayed away from executing it.

Tamil Nadu government agreed to revoke the ban, provided the movie is edited by removing the objectionable items.  No harm should be done to Muslims- the target of anti-Muslim mass media in India and abroad.  

Positive fallout of Madras High Court judgment on Kamal Movie
The historic Madras High Court judgment has already made its imprint in a new Hindi movie where the director/producer have promptly removed a controversial film song painting Muslims, as usual, in a dirty anti-Muslim format. Movie makers across the globe, especially after the Sept 11 hoax, enjoy too much of unlimited sadistic pleasure by projecting Muslims as terrorists and anti-nationals and anti-socials. 

Self-censor method is the best for Indian movie makers to make the society credibly vibrant and really healthy one. They need not bribe the censor board members and keep all sections positive in thinking. ...

Fanaticism in politics and cinema would only help the bogus politicians with hidden communal agendas but not good for the nation, people and movie makers themselves. . 
 

Negative fallout of Madras High Court judgment on Kamal Movie
Indian media TV channels have lost interest in the issue since there is a positive move towards settlement. Presumably the media expected the issue to go exploded culminating in the exit of Kamal, exactly as the renowned world famous painter MF Hussein had done who had sought asylum in Qatar when anti-Muslim Hindutva forces made his life and coexistence miserable in his own country. After having done so much for his nation, Hussein had to die a unhappy man in Qatar. Kamal knows that. 

I appreciate Tamil Nadu government, Madras High Court for the positive actions. I also thank Kamal for his timely gesture to evolve a compromise formula by agreeing, without precipitating the mater, to remove the objectionable scenes from the movie.

Madras High Court’s final verdict in upholding the ban on an entertaining movie with anti-Muslim malice is yet another feather in  cap of Indian jurisprudence. The judicial verdict supporting the state intention to maintain law and order as its first priority constitutes essentially a strong projection shield for the communally targeted Muslims in the country.

One hopes Indian state undertakes measures to protect the essentially besieged Muslims n the society from the onslaught of the majority lords or others in mass media.
