WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN LAL MASJID.
I had written earlier on two occasions, i am an eye
witness to this whole lal masjid episode as i lived next door in G-6/3 where it
all happened starting much before the operation till after the operation. To
refresh our memories I am narrating it again for the benefit of all to know the
actual truth.
From a very elegant simple Jamia mosque of the
sector with a low iron fencing where we often went for prayers to an armed
fortress with high walls and pickets occupied by well armed and trained
terrorists and criminals from outside and where nobody could go for prayers,
From a government owned beautiful children's library to its illegal occupation,
land grabbing and construction of the ugly Jamia Hafza with basement and gun
pickets. All done with a very sinister plan. I also had the personal
displeasure of meeting Aziz and the evil Rashid on several occasions who worked
for my uncle in UNESCO in his office. This transformation from a simple mosque
to a terrorists hub took place in a period of two and a half years with the
patronage and connivance of rouge elements and sympathizer's in the government,
administration and the politicians like Ijaz ul Haq and party. The people and
residents around were sick and tired with their activities, harassment,
insecurity and their ways and complaining for more than a year before the
operation. The local ICT administration with the police launched four campaigns
in this period to get possession of the children's library, demolish illegal
structures and the fortified wall but to no avail. In the last one they were
beaten up, firing exchange took place and a few government officials from the
local administration were taken hostage as well. After that neighborhood witch
hunt, beating and kidnapping of the residents in lal quarter area started. The
people came out on the street and media started a campaign about the
governments inefficiency and inaction and not doing the needful. Several
attempts were made for talks by various people including Ch Shujjat and others
but all failed. It was beyond the capacity of local police and the
administration. The civil administration formally requested for the help of
Armed Forces. This lasted a month before the operation was undertaken and the
place surrounded and sealed. In the operation on the forth day almost all
children from Hafza were evacuated in which the coward Moulvi Aziz was captured
trying to get away with his family in a Burka. We physically saw that. No
children were massacred as claimed and the final gun battle was between the terrorists
and the security forces in which Rashid was killed. The place was finally
cleared of these terrorists, goons and criminals and the rest is history. Later
Malik Riaz of Bharia rebuilt the destroyed buildings and renovated the mosque
and people of the area took a sigh of relief and people once again started
praying in the mosque. Interestingly the bastardly media which was daring the
government to take action, praising it for doing it afterwards took a U turn
and started criticizing the government for doing it. How strange. Apart from
being an eye witness as i lived there and it was happening in front of me I
also personally knew the ADC G, DC, Chief Commissioner and the IG police to get
actual updates. Our area was under curfew for three weeks. I have narrated the
actual facts. The simple fact is that it will be the greatest disservice to the
word Shaheed and Islam to call these bastardly criminals as one. The military
action was more than justified and they were very careful to ensure minimum
loss of human life. They did a commendable job. The helicopters often mentioned
in stories were no gunships but on two occasions were used to drop flares to
light up the area at night for the operation.
