Mutual respect - key to success of Pak-US relations!

 -DR. ABDUL RUFF COLACHAL

At the outset one fact should be mentioned right here, whether Pakistan likes it or not. Pakistan can never be a real partner of America. Islamabad can only be associate of CIA-Pentagon terror twins. Only by pursuing independent foreign policy it could save its sovereignty and freedom.

The Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif can rebuff US  tactical designs to  regain the image of Pakistan as an Islamic state, as envisaged by founding fathers, to advance the true Islamic democracy in the nation and region.

In helping the USA with the genocides of Muslims in the country, Pakistan is losing all credibility a free nation should have- more so as an Islamic nation. Pakistani image is also very low in USA and elsewhere.

No nation respects Pakistan because of its faulty foreign-domestic policy pursued for years now. Worse, it seems Americans now control Pakistani policies  .

All of a sudden Americans have begun praising their relations with Pakistan, though the level remains much lower than their “historic” ties with Israel which USA considers its own entity in Mideast to be protected by all means.

After meeting Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharif in Washington on 20th October, on the sidelines of and after the UN meeting. US Secretary of State John Kerry has said the US-Pakistan ties "could not be more important". Kerry, America's top diplomat described Pakistan as "a democracy that is working hard to get its economy moving and deal with insurgency and also important to the regional stability".

US President Barack Obama has asked Congress to resume $305m (£190m) in blocked security aid to Pakistan. Earlier this year, Obama justified the Pentagon crimes in Pakistan by calling the drone terror strikes part of a legitimate campaign against “terrorism”, but he also pledged more transparency in the program and stricter targeting rules.

Nawaz Sharif's three-day visit marks the highest-level talks between the two countries in the US for years. "We have a lot to talk about and the relationship with Pakistan could not be more important," Kerry said before his meeting with Sharif on 20th October. Sharif, elected in May for the third time, did not make public comments before the meeting started.

The Pak-US relations have been tense on several issues, including Islamabad's opposition to US drone strikes. US forces have comfortably settled down in Pakistan killing its people especially through drone terrorist methods. Washington's military assistance was interrupted following tensions in bilateral relations after a US commando raid on Osama bin Laden's compound in Pakistan in 2011 and the killing of more than 20 Pakistani soldiers in a US air strike.

Trade, dealing with extremism, and working on issues with Pakistan's neighbour, Afghanistan, were all set to be on the agenda, our correspondent says. So, too, was the thorny issue of US drone strikes. Sharif, who will meet with President Obama on 23 October, has said they are a challenge to his country, and that he will ask the US to bring an end to them. The Pakistani PM earlier called for a joint strategy to stop such attacks.

The issue is highly controversial in Pakistan, where parts of the government and military have often been accused of criticizing the use of drones in public while co-operating in private. It is estimated that, between 2004 and 2013, CIA drone attacks in Pakistan killed up to 3,460 people - although this figure will not include the very latest strikes., A research by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism said about 890 of those killed were civilians and the vast majority of strikes were carried out by the Obama administration.

Relations between world’s only super power ill-focused on Islam and Muslims their resources, and a weak Muslims nation in South Asia, cannot be expected to be normal unless Pakistanis  have resigned to the their crude  fate  as being slave of US imperialism.

Commentators view the talks being a strong sign of a willingness from both nations to co-operate, though American hawks want to keep both Pakistan and India as their important tools to pursue illegal interests in the region.

While Pakistan seeks more and more military aid from USA and Europe by allowing their militaries to target and kill Muslims in the region, India is known to be paying huge money and all-out support to US imperialism in order to sustain its illegal occupation of Jammu Kashmir and shielding its leaders from punishment for their collective crimes against humanity in JK.

Pakistan’s bad fate and pathetic conditions, thanks to betrayal by USA and its allies in the region, makes the leaders vulnerable to tricks of world’s major satan, the USA.

Yet, there are many Pakistanis who owes much to USA for their existence, voluntarily support US imperialism and criticize those Pakistanis who defend the nation by sacrificing their lives

USA still wants Pakistan paid agent to serve the imperialist cause on payment basis. But Nawaz Shiarif, after Pakistan’s sufferings at the terror hands of USA, is not impressed by US over tones.

The US/West has been at work to reduce Islamic population globally and weakening Muslims nations. Pakistan is one of the targets of the CIA-Pentagon terror twins.

No wonder, therefore, that Pakistanis hate America more than the inmates of secret prisons  set up by teh anti-Islamic CIA all over the world to torture humans in the most inhuman manners.
