Hindutva
attacks on Aam Admi Kejriwal: Has BJP Modi developed cold feet?
-DR. ABDUL RUFF COLACHAL
_______________
Indian Hindutva, obstructing to making India a credible secular democracy, is
very similar to, if not the same as, global fascism.
Hindutva forces led by
RSS-BJP right wing fanatic structures use Hinduism to terrorize
Hindus and Muslims, among others with a view to looting the Hindu votes in
polls, now for the parliament where these anti-people elements have
big stakes to promote their funding corporate and multinational bosses.
Although the BJP
–RSS twins have proved that they are no better than other corrupt
criminal parties, like Congress, DMK, ADMK, SP, BSP, RJD, etc, operating
in India, these ultra fanatic combines cannot stand any criticism
of her way of operations, and therefore, attack anyone who speak
against them.
Parliamentary poll
has caused imbalances among the Hindutva forces seeking to
use Hindutva fanaticism to oow the Hindu voters
Delhi poll last year
end became a turning point in Indian politics and poll patterns when a
newly formed people’s party Aam Admi party (Common man’s party) basing its
politics on anti-corruption platform , thrashing both national outfits Congress
party and BJP. Though the then ruling Congress party was totally trounced by
AAP it was the BJP that was affected badly as it could no form a
government even with almost simple majority.
Emergence of AAP has
become a major threat to Congress and BJP but the latter has made its policy to
attack the new party because AAP can cause disappearance
of these corrupt parties like Congress and communal ones like BJP .
BJP considers AAP
their enemy number one, worse than its traditional opponent the Congress party.
That AAP leader Kejriwal visited Modi’s Gujarat state to criticize him
and BJP did anger the Hindutva forces, and these criminal elements seek to
attack Kejriwal to terrorize him and APP so that they leave politics.
And a series of
physical attacks have been engineered by BJP and other Hindutva forces,
terribly worried about their future en the country.
Having become a
nightmare for the communal forces in the country, Arvind Kejriwal, the
chief of the Aam Aadmi Party or AAP, was slapped on 08 in Delhi state by an
auto-rickshaw driver while campaigning in Sultanpuri, north-west Delhi. He was
later seen sitting at Mahatma Gandhi's memorial Rajghat with a swollen left
eye. Kejriwal was in an open jeep when a man in a blue shirt reached up
and first garlanded the AAP chief and then struck him hard on his left cheek.
The attacker was immediately tackled to the ground by AAP supporters; he is in
hospital after being beaten up by them. "I forgive those who
attack me. Assault me as much as you want, I won't retaliate. I appeal to
volunteers not to retaliate, otherwise there is no difference between us and
them," Kejriwal said later, insisting that he still doesn't want security.
This was the second time that Kejriwal has been attacked in the last four days.
He has earlier also had ink, mobil oil and even an egg hurled at him. He has
blamed these attacks on political rivals. He tweeted today after the attack,
"I am just thinking - why am i being repeatedly attacked? Who r the
masterminds? What do they want? What do they achieve?... Let them tell me place
n time. I will come there. Let them beat me as much as they want, but
will that solve the country's problems?"
The man who attacked Kejriwal today has been identified as Lali. He has
reportedly accused Kejriwal of "betraying auto-drivers." That
was just the false pretext.
On Friday, the AAP chief was punched while campaigning at Dakshinpuri in south
Delhi. Then too, the attacker had been beaten by AAP workers before he was
handed over to the police.
Weeks ago, Kejriwal
had reprimanded his party workers for assaulting a man who had attacked him in
Haryana. The man climbed onto his jeep and hit him in the neck. Last
month, the 45-year-old was sprayed with ink and Mobil oil while
campaigning in Varanasi, where he is running for Parliament against the BJP's
prime ministerial candidate, hawkish fanatic Narendra Modi.
Kejriwal directed his anger at BJP after the attack. "I do
not understand why some people resort to violence for becoming the prime minister.
If you think by attacking us, we will keep quite then you are wrong. We will
fight this battle till the last breath," he said."I am just thinking
- why am i being repeatedly attacked? Who r the masterminds? What do they want?
What do they achieve?" Kejriwal tweeted soon after the incident. Is
violence an answer to country's problems? " let them tell me place n time.
I will come there. Let them beat me as much as they want... but will that solve
the problems?"
The former
Delhi chief minister and supporters went to Rajghat after the incident to
pray silently . Congress leader and Union law minister Kapil Sibal
condemned the attack on Kejriwal. This is not the first time the AAP
leader has been attacked in public.
On Friday, Kejriwal was slapped by a man in New
Delhi's Dakshinpuri area during a roadshow. The man was caught by AAP
supporters and was beaten up. He was taken into custody by the police after the
incident. "Let them attack us, we will not retaliate. Some people will do
anything to become PM," Kejriwal had said after the attack. On March 28,
Kejriwal, who has time and again refused police security, was attacked and
hit on his neck by a man claiming to be a supporter of Anna Hazare during
his road show at Charkhi Dadri in Haryana.
The AAP leader and
some of his colleagues were victims of an ink attack in Varanasi, earlier in
March, where he has challenged the Bharatiya Janata party's prime ministerial
candidate Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections. An egg
was also hurled at his car outside the famous Vishwanath temple on the same
day.
Senior AAP
leader and Gurgaon candidate Yogendra Yadav also came under a similar attack at New Delhi's Jantar
Mantar when a man wearing an AAP cap had smeared ink on his face during an
event to mark Women's Day.
Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) blamed
the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for it. This was the second such attack on
Kejriwal in the last four days. He was slapped by a 19-year-old man during his
campaigning in south Delhi's Dakshinpuri on Friday.
Despite repeated attacks, Arvind Kejriwal refuses special
security as he feels he is safe being among people.
It s time Indian judiciary and election Commission of India take
serious note of criminal mindset of Hindutva forces in India. These roguish
forces cannot attack the people for criticizing their criminally fanatic
policies and anti-people politics.
It should be stressed here that Indian military and intelligence
also have similar criminal mindset as of the BJP led Hindutva forces, targeting
Muslims in Indi and Jammu Kashmir. They along with the corporates seeking huge
profits use the fanatic media lords to target their opponents- Muslims as well
as others if they refuse to support and shield the Hindutva crimes as their
prime duty.
With military, intelligence and corporates plus media playing
hatred politics, the Hindutva parties fully enjoy the “freedom” to target
pro-people leaders like Kejriwal. They take full advantage of all communal
clashes and media mischief to increase their vote base in India.
India needs to put an end to communal and hatred politics of
Indian Hindutva forces. It is high time for the regime and state to consider
banning all communal parties in India to cleanse the system.
