Islam:  Who is Allah and who is not?

-
DR. ABDUL RUFF COLACHAL

_______________

Worship of any kind is meant to obtain the blessings and guidance of the Almighty.

However, unfortunately, there are no visible changes in the personality and behavior of even the believers, as they want others to change to suit their existence and welfare.

Many others may have doubts of different types.

The life of both believers as well and non-believers has not changed any significantly.

This situation is indeed problematic.

While Muslims who seriously worship  would wonder why the Muslims are
so weak in faith and why they  conduct themselves  in a nasty manner,
those who worship idols of gods and goddesses and  pictures of humans,
would also doubt if they worship the real God  the right way.

In order to clear our doubts and minds, one needs to put a simple but connected question: Who is God and who is not?

Is a human God himself to be worshiped by fellow humans, as many
would like to think?

Can humans claim to be Gods?

Are Holy Prophets also Gods?

The questions mean much to comprehend God and the God’s image in our minds.

In order to properly comprehend the meaning of Almighty God, again, we have to turn to the origins of the universe.

Who created the universe with its delicate balancing system?

The answer is plain:  Not the human beings or religious l reformers or spiritual leaders who created the universe.

Then who created the universe? Have the Holy Prophets created this universe and the balancing system?

No immediate answer but the One who created the universe is the worshippable God.

That is indeed the God is formless Almighty and humans cannot see Him but only visualize Him.

And humans did that in their owns ways.

Human imagination varied from time to time and huge piles of gods and goddesses appeared confusing the humanity about the existence of real God. .

Prophets, with the highest human status assigned by God, appeared from time to time to educate the people about the Lord and how to worship Him to earn His blessings and guidance.  But the followers of the Holy Prophets later on made the Prophets also Gods, thereby sharing their worship of God with humans.

That God is formless and omnipresent is not the Islamic way of thinking alone.  Pre-Islamic spiritual thoughts clearly viewed God as formless and guiding the universe.

Islam is about peace, patience, pure thought, brotherhood and real equality among people. Muslims are expected to pursue that God’s Holy Spirit.  Unity among Muslims also depends on the positive relationship of Muslims with others.

Islamic Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAS) is the gem of all prophets sent down by God to give good tidings to the people. He  is the most honest prophet the world ha s seen as he wanted  people to recognize him only as Allah’s Prophet for the world and not to make Him God as the followers of other religions have done,  thereby ensuring the wrath of Allah.

It was not accidental that the phrase   “.. And Muhammad (SAS) is Allah’s Apostle..”  was added to the main phrase “.. There is no god but Allah…” This is essentially to remind the future generations the truth about Allah and Prophet’s relationship with the Almighty.  He did not want any of His followers to call Him God even by mistake.

Being insensitive and provoking each other would make it difficult for Muslims to live in peace. Even during the adverse conditions, Muslims must keep the communal bonds with others. They will understand Islam and Muslims the way Muslims conduct themselves, the way Muslims
approach life, others.

Therefore, Muslims must recognize the existence of people of other faiths in order to live in peace with one another.

Muslims need to be in friendship with one and all but it is important that they are also are sensitive towards one another.

Prophet Muhammad (SAS) who brought the teachings of Islam to the Arab world at a time when the Arabs were divided. And He achieved this objective during his life time by his honest and sincere approach.

Muslims should be grateful to God and His final Prophet SAS for all their favours for humanity, especially the Holy Ramadan month meant to purify the soul and mind of the believers.

Muslims should always keep in highest esteem and also imbibe the virtues of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon Him)

Anyone who has not created the universe we now try to comprehend now and planned life on earth cannot be God.

Thus, by determining who not God is, one can easily comprehend who is God, who is Prophet and who is just a human!

Hypocrisy is causing serious damage to the believers as well.
