On 26 June a local news paper reported the distribution of pamphlets and pasting of posters on the gates of mosque in the area of Shereen Jinnah Colony and Truck stands with the threats to discontinue the supply of oil and goods to NATO troops in one week otherwise to remain prepared for the consequences, “After the deadline, if any truck or trawler is caught supplying diesel, petrol or goods, not only will the vehicle be set on fire but the driver will also be brutally slaughtered."it is reported in the same news that such posters and handbills were pasted a week back, few days after the publishing of this report revealing some suspicious activities in the southern downtowns of Karachi, news start arriving from the northern side lining area of Al-Asif Square and Sohrab Goath about some ProTaliban wall chalking and movements of suspicious vehicles in late hours.
it was when MQM leader Mr. Altaf Hussain and his Party Rabita committee expressed great concern about such malicious activities in the city; the economical hub of Pakistan, in a series of statements they intimated the law enforcement agencies and governing authorities to take serious notice of such criminal and anti-state activities and made appeals to people to remain alert and put an eye on such criminals. On 7th of July, 7 bomb blasts hit the city. All the blast were of low intensity and none of the law enforcement agencies were targeted nor any of the high profile targeted like shopping centre or fun land etc in all blast the target were the low civilized areas which were dominated by Pashtoon, Hindko or otherwise families belonging to NWFP Province of Pakistan resides.
The question that who might be behind these coward acts of terrorism and what objectives they want to achieve seems to be a mystery. I observed that the only benefit that was achieved from these act is to harass the whole City in general, and the same Transporters involved in transportations of good and fuel to all over the country in particular, in addition with creating a rift and Separation Line between the Urdu Speaking Majority and the Pashtoon Settlers once again, As this Rift and Separation is in great favour of these Taliban elements to hide themselves and move freely. Any misunderstanding and disturbance in the city can act as a shelter to hide and operate freely in the City, any ethnical imbalance and disturbance will give the police and law enforcement agencies hard time to tackle with and this may help them in achieving their goals. In case of any danger they may exploit the situation, create an environment of ethnical Riots so that they may remain safe and unseen.
Possibly the Posh areas of City can work as Taliban's Command and Control System where as the Pashtoon Speaking Areas will be there ultimate hideouts and operation centers and the separation line will be there most favorable thing to engage the law enforcement agencies and resident of these areas. So Karachiat what do u think this ethnical imbalance and tension is in favour of the city or a catalyst element for Taliban Elements to hide themselves and operate freely?
