Malcolm X Malcolm X was one of the most powerful and charismatic African-American leaders of the country. He converted to Nation of Islam and became a follower of its leader Elijah Muhammad. As a Nation of Islam leader, his message was essentially anti-white until he undertook and performed the Hajj (pilgrimage) to Mecca. Leopold Weiss Leopold Weiss (1900-1992), who became famous in the Muslim world as Muhammad Asad, was born in a Jewish family in what is now part of Germany. He worked in the Middle East as correspondent of prestigious German and Swiss newspapers. Dr. Murad Hofmann Dr. Murad Wilfried Hofmann (b. 1931) was born as a Catholic in Germany in 1931. He graduated from Union College in New York and completed his legal studies at Munich University where he received a doctorate in jurisprudence in 1957. He became a research assistant for the reform of federal civil procedure, and in 1960 received an LL. M. degree from Harvard Law School. He was Director of Information for NATO in Brussels from 1983 to 1987. He was posted as German ambassador to Algeria in 1987 and then to Morocco in 1990 where he served for four years. He accepted Islam in 1980 and authored several books on Islam. Read more...
Dr. T.J. Winter Dr. T. J. Winter, known now as Abdal-Hakim Murad, is a British convert to Islam. He received his masters degree from the Cambridge University at England and later studied at Al Azhar.
