A Free Kashmir: Random Thoughts-28

Indian state terrorism and Revival of Kashmiriyat

Anti-Pakistani, anti-China, anti-Kashmiri and anti-Muslim India ruining Kashmir as per a prolonged strategy has terrorized, killed and alienated the Kashmiris permanently. No one needs any crash course to understand the fact that the pro-India leaders and their media in Jammu Kashmir have helped an arrogant, terrorist occupier India to create strain on the backbone of the Kashmiri freedom fighters. Despite all odds, Kashmiris have emerged united seeking Azadi, i.e., independence, from occupier India.

Kashmir is undergoing one of it worst crisis, perhaps the most decisive one too. A disastrous, secret and illegal land deal in Kashmir, exposed by the force of the circumstances, has made life worse for the unhappy Kashmiris and a new wave of murders has hit the Kashmir with the forces killing some more Kashmiris in Srinagar and elsewhere. While life in Jammu has become normal and the Hindu people supported by Indian government are happy that they continue to decide every thing even in Kashmir, because that alien region is still under their terror military occupation. In Kashmir Hindus, whether Hindu trusts and Indian governor cannot decide any thing. It is stupid arguing that JK government under a Hindu governor can do every thing.

Consequent upon international pressure on it, UN has condemned killing of Kashmiris and called for restrain. This has annoyed the terrorist India which has rebuffed the world body not to "preach democratic and secular India", since it is Indian prerogative to teach its neighbors including Kashmir about democracy and secularism and manipulate so wisely the "terrorism" plank.

By holding mischievous polls almost regularly India claims to be "democracy" but Indian destabilizing activities in South Asia have so far remained out of purview of UN criticism. It looks India would have annexed both the UN and USA and also put up siege around UNSC for such UN reprimands and indictment against the "largest democracy" of the world.

Black Day of Kashmir

Kashmiris are in their rights to mark 15th August as Black Day of Kashmir. Even all Muslims should do the same henceforth for reasons best known to the establishment: destruction of Grand Babri Mosque and denial of legitimate rights in all respects to them by the central and state governments in India. When leading films personalities have expressed their anguish in not getting accommodation in Mumbai because they are Muslims, the Indian situation speaks volumes of India hidden strategy against Muslims in the country and Kashmir. Protesters carrying black flags on Friday held processions throughout Srinagar prior to the clashes. They burnt India's national flag and effigies of the Hindu nationalist B J P leader, LK Advani.

On 15 August Kashmiris protested against Indian occupation of Kashmir. There were no reports of disruption in functions organized by the government to celebrate the occasion. The main ceremony was held at the Bakhshi Stadium in Srinagar where the state Governor, NN Vohra, took the salute at a march-past by the police and paramilitary soldiers. Indian strategists call these double standards of freedom fighters.  Vohra said dialogue was the only way to sort out problems.  On August 18, thousands have gathered in Srinagar city in Indian-administered Kashmir, demanding that the UN recognize their right to self-determination. Freedom fighters submitted a memorandum to the UN office in the city outlining their demands.

Much of the Kashmir Valley remains paralyzed by a shutdown called by freedom groups. After years of relative calm, the demonstrations in the valley are the biggest since a freedom rebellion against Indian rule broke out nearly 20 years ago, analysts say. A curfew is still in place in parts of the Jammu region, though it has recently been relaxed. According to official reports, more than 26 people died last week in the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley during police firing on protesters. Police in Indian-administered Kashmir have clashed with about 1,000 freedom fighting protesters in the summer capital, Srinagar, Shots were fired and people were taken to hospital, but the number of casualties is unclear. People hoisted black flags in many parts of Srinagar on India's Independence Day. Police in Srinagar say the curfew has been lifted in several districts, but local people say this not true.

Consequence of fall of J. K government

Many Indian strategists argue that Kashmiris are not as interested as they claim in becoming independent from Indian hegemony. They even claim that the Kashmiris follow double-speak and never clearly seek independence but they only demand some privileges, powers and bribes. And that is all. And, accordingly, when they strike it is always to garner some favors form New Delhi and they are not at all interested in any serious business like sovereignty. One can dismiss this rhetoric as Indian hoax or utter nonsense spread by fanatics who earn their livelihood by churning out such trash published by anti-Islamic global media, especially for predominantly anti-Muslim India. But now Amarnath illegal land scam has clearly made their position to the Indian public. Kashmiris have now called the Indian bluff right in their face and made a strong call to quit Kashmir.

As JK government fell, India chartered a new plan to carry out the illegal Amarnath land deal with the new governor. As per the game plan of New Delhi, some more the Kashmiris have to be killed as punishment for protesting against Indian hegemony. Replacement of an elected JK government by an appointed governor N.N.Vohra, a leading Indian strategist appointed by New Delhi, has cast shadow over the freedom movement of the patriotic Kashmiris.

India has showcased it economic power by making Kashmiris suffer more. Economic terrorism unleashed on Kashmir, the so-called crown of India, is the most atrocious reality of modern world.  Kashmir is a political issue and should be resolved politically. Economic blockade being practices by Israel in Palestine is the worst kind of anti-democratic philosophy any modern nation can practice. In his independence day speech, Indian premier Manmohan Singh asked, as a routine matter, all political parties to keep the long-term interests of Jammu and Kashmir in view and come together to find a permanent solution to the problems of the state. Permanent solution can mean just freedom and independence for Kashmiris. But he did not utter word about the sovereignty and freedom for Kashmiris now under Indian custody. Long-term interest of Kashmir can be achieved by removing the military contingents along with weapon systems and remote gadgets and K\let Kashmir free from Indian occupation for ever.  Kashmiris can decide h the future course of their nation in a peaceful atmosphere and India has a primary duty as a colonizer to create conditions now for that.

After a pretty long wait, Kashmiris have finally decided to openly seek independence form occupying India.  All these years the pro-India elements, ably misused by New Delhi for continuation of military occupation, have in fact harmed the  freedom cause of Kashmiris and the struggle by the freedom fighters were converted by Indian government  into "acts of terrorism".

While the Indian terrorist forces showed full restrain in Jammu facing the Hindus agitating for the illegal land deal re-implemented, they have used excessive force like mad forces in Kashmir where the Muslims, including children, came to street. The Indian media have got many photographs of different sizes and colors about Jammu rioters fighting; these wonder media don't even bother to report faithfully about killing of Muslims in Kashmir, let alone publishing photos of even two little boys by the Indian terror forces.  Oh dancing Indian secular democracy, is it you call?

But while Indian Muslims have lost all their legitimate rights because of their own weakness and ignorance, Kashmiris still have the capacity to fight for their rights. Muslim leaders have sold Muslim interests to their Hindu leaders by way of votes and other "services".

Salute Indian Terror or Cash?

Not only the rich but even the central government of India think money can and should play any role in a civilized society and India can do anything in Kashmir using military forces. Indian government has no paucity of resources, having got a plenty of stolen money arranged by selling the public sector undertakings belonging to the common people including Muslims. This new money is used for hidden activities. Recently the ruling UPA government allegedly paid payoffs of croses "ready cash" to the MPs for their support in the parliament vote on July 22. Manmohan Singh, a pro-US and pro-capitalist premier in the South Asia, who met US president Bush recently in Japan on the sidelines of G8 summit, was over confident. Perhaps President Bush had assured him of US support for winning the vote, though US Congressmen cannot vote in Indian parliament, unless the Indian constitution is amended.

Since India has got some new cash, it thinks it need not bother about Babri Mosque, because Indian Muslim leaders are surrendered before the Hindu leaders in power and cash "“sharing. Remember, the Congress party has also pledged to Indian nations and world at large that Grand Babri Mosque will be rebuilt on the same site where it existed before it was demolished by anti-Islamic and Hindu terrorists.

India has so far used a few Kashmiri politicians to advance its Hindutva interests in Kashmir. Anyone who does not support Indian nefarious designs is arrested, harassed and even killed by Indian brutal forces. It reminds one of US policy. USA has time and again warned the world leaders: "Look, you guys are either with us or against us. There is no neutral or non-aligned position. Be with us or face the consequences. Decide quickly", meaning if any country is not with USA it risks many things. US cannot easily forget the fact that India very cunningly used "non-aligned" posture to side with USSR and retain Kashmir under military occupation and genocides. A "grateful" Manmohan perhaps thinks USA had a hidden hand in his assuming premiership in the first place and it wants to see that his government survives to pursue the US and G8 agendas of privatization.

United Call?

Even while senior freedom fighting Hurriyat leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani have asked the JK government to lift this notorious economic terrorism from the lives of Kashmiris, the pro-India leaders already seek independence form India. Mirwaiz Umer Farooq demanded opening of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and other roads across the Line of Control for trade, withdrawal of troops and revocation of some laws. The people of Kashmir should be allowed to give vent to their anger and grievances and no step should be taken which will sabotage the peace process. They still seem to hesitate to keep repeating the slogans of "independence from India" and "Quit Kashmir. As the JK government has been delaying the talks by conducting talk one after several days, senior Kashmiri patriot and Hurriyat leader Geelani called all Members of Parliament to resign or face social boycott.

Threatening to quit Parliament if 'excessive force' was used against protesters in Kashmir, National Conference chief Omar Abdullah said the present crisis in the state was a result of misgivings about transfer of land to the shrine board. In fact why the Hindus are bent upon getting the land registered for themselves is not clear yet. The people of Jammu are now claiming that they have been discriminated against by successive governments during the past 60 years in what sense?  Indian government does not want to sit with freedom fighters and talk.

Eve then the personal quarrel and political rivalry do come in the way of these leaders to take the forward freedom march, unitedly leading the Kashmiris to sovereignty. Abdullah said, "I respect the elderly Geelani but would like to ask him what he was doing when Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was spearheading a movement in Kashmir." However, pro-India leaders should realize it is not time to settle old scores and only united action can bring down the occupation strategy of New Delhi. He said the solution to the Kashmir issue lies in talks between the governments of India and Pakistan, keeping in view the sentiments and aspirations of the people of J&K. The NC president urged the Centre to resume talks with "separatists" and mainstream parties to find a solution to the Kashmir issue.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mahbooba Mufti that the unilateral decision on land use for Amarnath Yatra is a move to disrespect the popular sentiments in Kashmir. In a statement she said any decision on this sensitive matter should have been taken only with consensus and after consultation with the Kashmir Coordination Committee and civil society in Kashmir.

Congress party in Kashmir is still silent.

When will Kashmir Valley be Normal?

From the illegal Amarnath land scam to Eidgah Match a lot of water has flown under the Kashmir Bridge, a lot of blood too. Normalcy in any troubled region can only be restored when the oppressors concede certain concessions to the oppressed, but in the case of Kashmir the minimum concession that the Kashmiris expect from occupying India is sovereignty. Policy mixing up issues and confusing the people cannot establish real peace or creation peaceful atmosphere.

Kashmir freedom fighters known in India as "separatists" and "terrorists" had launched the agitation on August 11 demanding the opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road to end the "economic blockade" of the valley in the wake of the Amarnath land stir. Kashmir, where normal life was disrupted for about 2 weeks due to the agitation to end the "economic blockade", limped back to normalcy following freedom fighting separatists' decision to suspend the strike for three days. The Coordination Committee -- an amalgam of patriots demanding sovereignty back form India, social organizations, traders' and employees' bodies -- decided to suspend the strike. They had decided to suspend the strike for three days to provide relief to students, laborers and other sections of the society who were hit by the shutdown. However, vehicles and business establishments perched black flags atop their buildings as a mark of protest and in support of the demands of the separatist groups.

The call given by the freedom leaders for 'March to Eidgah' in downtown city when they were to announce their future course of action has been used by Indian agents in Kashmir to kill some more Kashmiris.

A Word

It looks the ghastly processes of reckless privatization and nuclearism would go on in India to squeeze the less privileged people, including Muslims so that the pro-US elements occupying important positions in India remain undisturbed. By using capitalist formations s a base for cooperation, India tries to keep US-led west under its custodial influence too.

Bu using its monetary muscle, and its new "US link", India might continue to try to keep Kashmir under brutal custody through various pressure tactics, but USA is for Kashmiris. Any weakening impression of the freedom fighting groups would be pushed through by India in international forums to drive home the point that the Kashmiris don't want back their sovereignty.

At long last the Kashmiris have realized that they have to peacefully struggle to get back their sovereignty from occupying India. The most important feature of the current phase of independence struggle is that now people seek full and complete independence and even the pro-India leaders have accepted their call to fight for their genuine cause collectively. Obviously a genuine struggle by affected people with full sincerity cannot but force India to surrender sovereignty back to Kashmiris and quickly withdraw terror forces from Kashmir to let the Kashmiris decide their future together. They have succeeded thus far and, certainly, they will win the war sooner than later.

The Kashmiris have almost in one voice now demand independence without any previous hesitation and fear. They know they have to lose nothing but their chains tied to them by Indian terror forces and strategists. In this long crucial struggle the Kashmiris have clearly projected their Kashmiriyat identity, which is different from Indian terrorist hegemony. They have sent a clear message too to New Delhi: state terrorism will not stop them from obtaining independence back from occupying terror India. Do Indians, particularly their members of Parliament, still think there could be another alternative now than surrendering sovereignty back to Kashmiris?

It is time for all political parties in Kashmir to pool their political and diplomatic resources to pressurize New Delhi to declare indpendence for Kashmir.
