QUALIFIED PERSONS Versus UNEMPLOYMENT AND LOW SALARIES
In our Country Pakistan, there are mainly two categories of people (a) those who impart education to their children just to train them in the discipline of Governance (b) those who impart education to their children with hope that when their sons and daughters would get University degrees, they would prove a firm support for them in their old age.
My point of discussion is about the latter category of people. Every Government claims that it is working for the educated but unemployed youths but the reality is opposite, which is clear from the daily life. These young people, in my opinion, is a potential danger to those classes of the society who are busy day and night in amalgamation of wealth and sending to the foreign banks. First of all no one is ready to give employment to any young if become ready to give employment the salary is so low which is insufficient to meet the daily requirements of his house.
On 2-12-2008, I visited the office of the Executive District Officer, Schools and Literacy, District Swabi where the EDO told me that there were 17 posts advertised for the C. T. teachers and his office received more than 1200 applications. The applicants included even M.Sc. and M. Phil. Candidates. I assessed the rate of employment in the Country from the number of candidates from only one office in one district. What would be the rate at national level, no exact figure is available.
This is nothing but the extreme of negligence and overlooking the requirements of the people by the Government. What kind of Planning is done both at Federal and Provincial levels, what the Planners have in the minds about the future working of the Institutions of the Country, where they want to lead the people of Pakistan.
People now have two courses open either to suicide or to join the terrorists and dacoits and kill others. It means the people have lost the sense of the significance of the human beings whom Al-mighty Allah has termed preferred creature. The inequality in the living standard has snatched the rightly thinking capability from the people.
A dozen or more terrorists killed a few persons in Mumbai in India, the Governments of both India and Pakistan have started such an outcry over it as if the whole India has been attacked and floods of blood have been flown. Such numbers of people were killed in bomb blasts daily in Pakistan a few months ago but neither the Government nor the Media got it so serious to attack India or any other Country. In my opinion, the event has been intentionally exaggerated just to divert the attention of the people from their basic issues. Poverty level is humiliating in both the Countries. There is famous maxim in Pashto language that "it rained in teera (a place in tribal area) and the flood swept the donkeys of ramoro ( a place). The same is the situation here in our Country. The Mumbai attacks provided an opportunity to the leaders of Political Parties to join in a Conference to show the World that they are united"”how much they are united Almighty Allah must not put them in the trial.
I come back to my discussion on unemployment. When on one side the people either are starving due to unemployment or low salaries what kind of treatment, a sensible person can expect from them when they see the others, using their powers only for themselves. Those Countries, which have developed themselves, mainly concentrated on unemployment as a first step for their progress. Their leaders and Planners thought about the future repercussions of employment. In our Country, neither he is feed nor he is left to kill himself. A unique kind of unrest is prevailing in the youth. Every young person now acquires education with the hope either to go to U.S.A or to U.K. The foreign Countries have considered Pakistan a nursery for the growth of talented persons where the people become educated to a certain level and then leave the Country (either through fair means or through unfair means) and then settles abroad. Apparently, these foreign countries consider Pakistanis as terrorists and unfit persons but in reality, their embassies and missions work mainly to choose the brilliant and talented people and to convey them to their Countries. They have unnecessarily under-estimated the value of the People of Pakistan. A Pakistani is neither respected in his own Country nor abroad despite being "gold" of high quality. In Pakistan he is exploited by the rich and Government while abroad he is considered a second-class citizen despite mixing his blood and sweat for that Country.
On the occasion of murder of Benazir Bhutto, in Sindh Province, so much destruction took place which has not been recovered so far. The anti-social elements took it an opportunity to destroy the daily life of the people. Imagine, what would happen if either Pakistan or India attacked each other. Those who are dissatisfied in both the Countries would consider the war between two countries as a blessing to quench the thirst of vengeance of the perpetration of injustices, misbehaviours, class differences, caste differences etc. No person who is now writing now only for the upper class would be spared. No political party or force would be able to control the enraged people of both the Countries. Both the Countries should satisfy themselves only with the cold war which is going on between them either in shape of stopping water or of gas pipe line, construction of dams, not accepting the demands of each others for the welfare of their people. If they resorted to war, it will produce many Afghanistans in South Asia. Neither American drones nor Britain's behaviour would benefit them in any way. They should satisfy themselves with present conditions. If the conditions worsened, the whole advantage would go to China and Russia who have adopted silent behaviour.
One strategy is of the Countries and the other strategy is of the people comprising all kinds of the people. The strategy of the people always becomes successful at the end. Before happening of any unpleasant event, the Government should take care of the unemployed and low salaried classes for the sake of the future of the Country because our ancestors have achieved it after very hard struggle and much sacrifices. The tales of the atrocities are still fresh in the minds of those who have seen the catastrophe of the partition. At this time, the upper class would be the ultimate sufferers if they failed to comprehend the gravity of the situation. PAKISTAN WILL ALWAYS REMAIN UNTIL THE LAST DAY, BUT ONLY THE RULING CLASSES WOULD CHANGE... LONG LIVE PAKISTAN.
