Terrorism, Cricketism, Nuclearism 

Not many would argue now against the existing nexus or at least a possible nexus, between expanding terrorism and proliferation of nuclearism because the strong nuclear powers want to retain their own nuclear toilets but seek to dismantle the nuclear arsenals of small nuclear powers, although nuclear toilets cannot be differentiated as good and bad. Similarly, the linkages among cricketism, nuclearism and terrorism cannot be easily discounted, either, although in the continuing globalization processes they are interlinked and inter-playing. 

However, at a first look, it seems there cannot be any linkages between terrorism and Cricketism. But in Indian case they seem to have some hidden connections. For India and its media cricketism, nuclearism and terrorism occupy very important place. India uses both nuclearism and terrorism to come closer to USA and Israel and purchase their weapon systems to threaten its neighbors; By using projecting its cricket prowess India is keen to showcase it regional power; Nuclearism helps India threaten Kashmiris; Cricketism causes terrorism and nuclearism shields nuclearism and terrorism, Thus India uses cricketism, nuclearism and terrorism to advance its national interests, but it employs them alternatively but quite effectively, so as to keep Kashmir under its brute custody. 

After felling the grand Babri Mosque in UP, the Indian terrorists (Hindus) terrorized India but called the Muslims the "terrorists". They attacked in several towns when Sri Lanka hit India was badly in Sri Lanka. And, very recently, as England was defeated 5 times consecutively by India in India, again the "terrorists" struck Mumbai Taj and other points, killing foreigners and Indians, although no credible evidence is collected by India or USA for that.   

Never the cricketers have been attacked by the "terrorists", because they are the guests of the governments concerned. But the terrorism plank is being used by India to terrorize the visiting teams to score quick victories. With a view to advancing its national interests, India is deadly focused on cricketism, terrorism and nuclearism. Terrorism is invoked so as to get proper world attention and legitimacy for nuclearism and regular wins in cricketism.

India's 9/11 has lost much of its charm as the 5-star hotels the key targets of the terrorism have resumed functioning. To the misfortune of Indian and its media, Pakistan has not cooperated with India to put an end to the issue.

Even as the media are fully busy accusing Pakistan for not "keeping its words" and Indian lawmakers are seen busy with drafting a suitable law to further fix the Muslims in the country and Kashmir under "terrorist acts", the central and state governments and their various departments and agencies are awfully preoccupied with a very important issue. India wants to get ready with another Republic Day by getting ready a list of favorites for national awards of various categories.

Since January 26 is fast approaching India leaders are busy selecting favorites for various awards for Republic day for their selfless and free services to mother India. Last year one of the cricket favorites from Mumbai, the home state of incumbent president, was slated for the highest honor, the Bharat ratna. But certain objections played their role against the award being given to him, and in stead, a lower award was offered by the president of India (a Maharashtrian herself and was accepted by the cricketer. During the last series India has been pursing to push that person for the award by influencing the foreign countries. And it has been working in his favor. Of course it is Indian awards and Indian government can give to any one of their choice, but making people eligible for the award is really atrocious.

Assuming the cricket between Aus-SA was real, it was indeed a great series. Can one say for the recent tournaments between India and Australia which almost became indo-Australia joint cricket matches? Australia would make a big total and them help India to make bigger total,   not by the top batsmen but by the bowlers who generally make just single digit runs and mostly end pathetically with zero number.

The grand finale of the post Nov26 (many Indians would prefer to use 26/11 make India appear to be a "co-sufferer" with USA Sept11) Indo-England test series ended in a draw and India could not get the second Test as well, as it had expected.  By playing with India, England seems to have leant cricket a bit more now by playing with Indians and hence they managed to see the fall of some of award winning batsmen red.  Dravid (0), Shevag (17), Tendulkar (5) and Dhoni (0) really were made to eat dust form Mahali gorinds on Dec 23 in the second and last Test Gambhir (97) and Yuvraj Singh (86) surrendered meekly before the English boys on the verge of their securing centuries each and returned to the pavilion painfully.

It is rather atrocious to know that some "best' people are being groomed by government agencies and their media for awards. Those whom the government and its media project as the best players make pathetic performances scoring "zero" some runs.

Who should hit how many runs and who should give support with his bat is also broadly decided before hand. Although weaker than India, English cricket writers slammed "myopic" Team India for allowing Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh to bat on at the expense of a result in the second Test against England in Mohali, Punjab. ""¦It was a shame that, in the quest for individuals' glory, India killed the second Test by batting on after lunch on Tuesday. In 1981-82 India won the first Test against England and ensured the next five were draws by slow batting, slow over rates and slow pitches. The fact that the matches are played according a pre-plan is clearly shown in the words of Indian Captain: We started well today; they (Gambhir and Yuvraj) deserved their centuries, it was a team decision to let them go for it. We're enjoying the cricket we're playing and enjoying each others' success.

  II- Appeasement

The matches played under some agreement or appeasement arrangement are fake by their very nature. In a show of gratitude for not letting the terrorists attack them in Mumbai as their stay was scheduled already, UK sent back its team to play the Tests inv India, after quickly leaving India after the terrorism in Mumbai. 

In the recent Test-1 match with England, they were almost winning the match, but Brown came down to New Delhi, and one does not know what happened, since then the visitors placed too bad and letting Indian team win, the future award winner getting more runs to his credit.

It is amazing to observe the adjustment and appeasement gestures in cricket. A cricketer makes two or three centuries and get out by getting tired or voluntarily getting into some foul. The same player is out with a single digit or even net zero run to his credit. Unlike any other sport, unpredictability and inconsistency is the core feature of cricket. 

In fact many Indian bowlers got 50 plus under this appeasement category. crickets, the media specialists too, could not sleep well that miserable night While they Indian cricketers envy the shooting specialists and chess players for their cozy and easy wins and more cash they acquired form different sources, the  cricketers have to sweat in sun- a task they would point blank refuse if their parents asking them to do at home. 

It is assumed that powerful foreign countries also play a role in the "distribution" of "prestigious" awards.

Of course, Indian government has got some awards of different categories and they should be distributed every year on Republic day, falling on 26 January, according to the recommendations form all concerned. Obviously their agencies have to find some "deserving" candidates for the awards.

There are so many anomalies in awarder selection. Cricket is played with a bat while street criminals use sticks to thrash people they don't like.  The Olympic shooter took just a few seconds to clinch his global gold, while many others have to toil days to get such awards. A chess player wins medal by sitting in a cool and cozy atmosphere. One may or may not have reservations about awards being given to honor individuals either in cricket or in any other fields, in the backgrounds of availability of several such persons in the same field and the common notion that influence brings the awards to people. Team games are not separated from individuals' games as a result individuals playing a team where the collective efforts matter, are selected for such awards. 

Cricket is a team game where members collectively play and win or lose the matches. Cricket, moreover, is one of the games where every possible manipulations is evident and offering an award, more national award, to one player makes mockery of collective wisdom in general. As one of slowest games of the earth the players have every change of playing not just cricket, but mischief. Under a pre-planned scheme, cricketers at times play exactly how and what is told to them.

It has become known as a fact that matches are played not as seriously and sincerely as they pretend doing. In cricket, some individuals are boosted, perhaps on the recommendations form cricket mafia in connivance with the governments concerned. To the honor of any nation, prestigious awards, if they are considered prestigious, should be given only those who have made significant contribution that could be construed as selfless service to the nation, its economic and socio-political development, etc.

In fact if one seriously considers skills or talent in every field there some people who fit the bill, but playing according the sport mafia does not deserve any awards. Government could offer the cricketers of their choice some more cash or land or even play ground as a gift, but giving national awards only makes fun of those who might have got them for their selfless services to the nation without getting any service charges or payment.  

It is not ignore the fact in every field including other types of sports the same lacunae is prevailing and  government is using its veto to award any one it considers fit. In cricket, the most popularized sport in India and other former colonies of UK, a cricketer is given an award for thrashing a ball with a bat, a national award at  that  while the criminal who uses a stick to beat some one on the street is put in jail, if he has no proper  "connection".  

The latest trend of offering plenty runs to the back benchers the bowlers at the end who other wise don't go beyond a single digit, most with a mighty zero to their credit, when the main batsmen collapse very badly. This way the cricketers try to appease the crowd which is upset over the bad performance of the "best" batsmen.   

The cricketers as well as other sportspersons could be considered for extra cash awards, over and above their usual perks and charges in crores of rupees. A cricketer who has made enough fortunes running into billions of rupees just for striking a few hundred runs cannot be a national hero to be eligible for national awards like Bharat Ratna or Padmavibhushan and lower grades depending on the quality of the services rendered by them. A sport team could chosen for some sports awards and not Bharat Ratna even if  a sportsman hit 1000 runs in just one hour, Because, runs and wickets are these days decided before hand, tentatively and all sorts of adjustments are made on the ground. At times the target is not hit, leading to verbal accusations between the teams.

Australia, India England, among others, have refused to play in Pakistan because they fear terrorists, but while in India Mumbai was hit by terror and they ran out India by catching the first flight. But they have come back braving the terrorists in India.

Many Indian cricketers and media experts could not sleep for a couple of days after the drawn match. India is was sure to clinch both the Test in India against England, but things went wrong some where.

Immediately after the MumbaiNov26 terrorism, the Aussies left India not to return for the rest of the matches, but still returned under pressure form Indian government. Terrorism struck precisely in India but they came back to play in India, but they also claim they are deadly afraid of terrorism. However, they refused to go o Pakistan possibly under pressure form India and other countries. India wanted to prove some thing very important but failed. South Africans disproved their theory and Sri Lanka has inflated the terrorism arguments of India and Australia.

India and USA and other "allies" in terrorism, want to use terrorism plank to bully not only Indian Muslims and terrorize non-militant Hindus, but also make Pakistan kill more Muslims in Pakistan and help both kill some Afghans in their country. That has also fizzled out now.

India defeated South Africa in Pakistan recently and South Africa defeated Australia which India thrashed badly in India days ago. Hence India decided to call of its forth coming trip to Pakistan.  Fearing a rout in Pakistan - and not terrorism- India has cancelled its Pakistan tournament. 

As a measured support to its neighbor Pakistan, Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan next year following the withdrawal of India. Sri Lanka is due to arrive in Karachi on 19 January and play the Twenty20 game and the first one-day match there. India pulled out on Thursday after receiving government advice in the wake of November's attacks in Mumbai. Sri Lanka, currently in Bangladesh for two Tests and a one-day series, will play three Tests, three one-dayers and aTwenty20 game in Pakistan. 

Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan soon now following the withdrawal of India, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed. India pulled out after receiving government advice in the wake of November's attacks in Mumbai. Sri Lanka, currently in Bangladesh for two Tests and a one-day series, will play three Tests, three one-dayers and a Twenty20 game in Pakistan. Lanka are due to arrive in Karachi on 19 January and play the Twenty20 game and the first one-day match there.

India and its allies, both old and emerging, should now sit back to ponder over its terrorism strategies quite seriously.  Earlier the better, because, the larger world is becoming aware of all its doctrines, strategies and hidden agendas.
