Israel & Lebanon: Fascism needs to be Contained!

- By Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal

I - Israeli Terror in the Region

Terribly militarized Israel is known for its fascist actions in Palestine and elsewhere in the region. It is indeed atrocious to read the western stuff, produced on payment by CIA/Mossad Axis of global evils, promoting Zionist fascism in Palestine and arguing against any justice to the defenseless Palestinians whose lands the Fascist Israel occupies. World bodies, under UNSC terror control, also parrot the Neocons version of Israel appeasement.

The Zionist Israeli regime continues to occupy the alien lands annexed illegally from Palestine, Lebanon and Syria. By unleashing fascist wars in Palestine killing thousands of innocent people, including old people, women and children each time, the Israeli leaders refuse to surrender sovereignty to them, while the western terror powers keep Israel in their brute military company. The peace talks thus far have failed to provide justice for the Palestinians and bring the fascist Jews to justice.

Israel destroyed all features of the Lebanese state, laying siege to Lebanon and isolating it (as it did in Gaza), to punish the Lebanese state. It left one safe exit route for Lebanon, to Damascus - what a coincidence! Israel does not want peace in the region, because it is frightened about seeing a Palestinian state on its borders. Israel wants to retain a state of war throughout the region, because it is the only deterrent to the removal of its settlements, its policies of occupation and hegemony, and the establishment of a Palestinian state, which the international community wants. Israel thinks that strengthening hard-line politics and extremism will serve its policy of rejecting a Palestinian state and the Palestinian people.

The billionaire and business tycoon, Rafik Hariri, who was the Prime Minister of Lebanon from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2000 until his resignation, 20 October 2004, was assassinated on 14 February, 2005 when explosives equivalent to around 1000 kg of TNT were detonated as his motorcade drove past the St. George Hotel in the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Hariri's killing led to massive political change in Lebanon, including the Cedar Revolution and the withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon. US inspired UNIIIC indicated that the Syrian government may be linked to the assassination. However, there is strong feeling among Lebanese about the Mossad involvement n the assassination. Israel is opposed any strong government in Arab world.

II "“ Israel Keeps Heavy Feet in Lebanon

Israel indirectly controls Lebanon by directly controlling some important political components of the ruling coalition there. Recently Israel's hawkish foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman who has maintained sustained fascist passion for holocaust of Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere, visited an Arab village cut in half by an international border and insisted it will remain under the control of Israeli. There is no fence through the village of Ghajar, dividing Lebanon and Israel controlled Golan Heights of Syria, and it is effectively controlled by Israel despite the murky legal situation. Lebanese media have reported that the United Nations has suggested posting its south Lebanon peace force in the village along with one Lebanese soldier to symbolize sovereignty.

Talking to reporters at the sensitive village, the Zionist hawkish foreign minister ruled out handing it over to Lebanon.  "All of Ghajar is under Israeli control and sovereignty." Lieberman who earlier insisted on sinking the Palestinians in Dead Sea and take away their entire territory for the terror Jews, said Ghajar's residents have taken Israeli citizenship, unlike others in the Golan Heights. In the past most of the village's 2,000 residents have said they would like to be citizens of Lebanon once again and that for the time being they want the village to remain united, regardless of who controls it now.  They are confident that ultimately they will be back as Lebanese citizens.

Even while it unleashes terror around, the Zionist regime has also promoted illegal business tycoons like Lieberman and used their partial revenues against Palestine. Lieberman and his associates are suspected of establishing several companies, some of them shell companies, in order to launder millions of shekels and funnel them into his own pockets. Police have investigated whether Lieberman continued running these alleged operations even after becoming a public official. In addition, police believe Lieberman and his associates tried to obstruct the police investigation in at least three separate instances, by changing the names of companies he allegedly established in Cyprus after he suspected the police had identified them..

  III "“ Fascist Deadly March

Not only UNSC members have military bases abroad. India and Israel have showcased their military power by imposing their bases outside their territories. Israel has military base in South Lebanon. Israel and Lebanon have never had normal economic or diplomatic relations, but until the 1970s Lebanon's border with Israel was the calmest frontier between Israel and any Arab League member state. Lebanon was the first Arab league nation to signal a desire for an armistice treaty with Israel in 1949 and Lebanon did not participate in the 1967 or 1973 wars in any significant way. Lebanon would not sign a separate peace treaty as Jordan and Egypt have done. Other Lebanese leaders draw an even harder line. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said in August 2006 that Lebanon would be the "last Arab country to make peace with Israel" because of the large number of civilians that were killed in the 2006 Lebanon War. Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hizbullah, proclaims "Death to Israel" and promises the "liberation" of Jerusalem. It is highly unlikely that Lebanon will sign a peace treaty with Israel before Syria, as Syria's influence on Lebanese politics is still strong. Shebaa Farms, the largely unpopulated Israeli controlled territory along the border between Lebanon and Syria, is claimed by Lebanon, although the United Nations and most of the world community, including Israel, agree that Shebaa Farms is part of Syria. Hezbollah sought to use the captives for leverage to release Lebanese prisoners whom Israel has admitted were taken for political purposes.

Some right-wing militias were Israel's allies in the Lebanese Civil War. After the PLO was ejected from Beirut in the summer of 1982, Bashir Gemayel flew to the Israeli coastal town of Nahariya to talk with Menachem Begin and Ariel Sharon. Begin and Sharon proposed that Israel and Lebanon establish full diplomatic relations, but Gemayel proposed a kind of formal non-aggression pact. When Sharon reminded Gemayel that Israel controlled most of Lebanon at that time and that it would be wise to follow Israel's instructions Gemayel held out his hands and replied "Put the handcuffs on..... I am not your vassal." Gemayel left Israel without making any formal agreement and he was assassinated two weeks later. Zionist criminal hands are believed to be behind many murders around the world, including this.

After the assassination of Gemayel, Israel and Lebanon signed an agreement on May 17, 1983 which was a peace treaty in all but name. Lebanon signed the agreement under American and Israeli pressure, but it was opposed by Syria. The agreement was conditional on Syrian withdrawal, which did not occur until 2006. Israel believes in secret illegal dealing internationally. Much of the content of the treaty was contained in secret protocols and memoranda, and it did not win expected Jordanian and Saudi endorsement.

The success of the First Persian Gulf War or the First Gulf War or more commonly Desert Storm and by Saddam Hussein as the Mother of all Battles (2 August 1990 "“ 28 February 1991), created new opportunities not just for Middle East peacemaking but for the US-led NATO to plan for larger version of terror wars in Arab world because the war exposed the deadly divide among the Arab as well as Islamic nations. (First of all, the Sept 11 was hatched by the NATO/Mossad/Pentagon/CIA to threaten the Islamic nations, to control their energy resources and spread rampant corruption and crime in the Islamic world).. In October 1991, under the sponsorship of the United States and the then Soviet Union, Middle East peace talks were held in Madrid, Spain, where Israel and a majority of its Arab neighbors conducted direct bilateral negotiations to seek a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338 (and 425 on Lebanon) and the concept of "land for peace." Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and representatives of the Palestinians continued negotiating until the Oslo interim peace accords were concluded between Israel and the Palestinians in September 1993 and Jordan and Israel signed an agreement in October 1994.

The Gulf terror war helped the USA to keep its terror forces in Saudi Arabia, but also helped Israel to strengthen its military might and kill Palestinians in "free for all Jews" manner.  "Operation Desert Storm" was the U.S. name of the air and land operations and is often incorrectly used to refer to the entire conflict and the attacks were rehearsals for future invasions of Arab world one by one, the last one should be Saudi Arabia. Blood thirsty Zionist regime has so far used all available opportunities, offered by terror wars unleashed by global state terrorists led by the USA, to kill Muslims it its vicinity.

However, there seems to be a revision of terror policy in Washington. In the background against the ongoing US-led terror wars in Islamic world, the new US policy as outlined by President Obama would be a mix of hard and soft power, the professional and political options and treating terrorism as a threat and at the same time as a phenomenon, which requires a multi-dimensional approach. He was critical of attempts to make the entire foreign policy hostage to counter-terrorism. It will no more be a war on terror as projected by the previous Bush administration. Instead, it will be a campaign against terrorism without invading Muslim nations on that pretext. The message, which he has sought to convey through his two interactions is: Counterterrorism will continue to be an important priority of the administration, but not an obsessive priority. One cannot ignore other issues requiring attention under the pretext of preoccupation with counter-terrorism.

A Word

While NATO led Western fascism is taking a final shape now, Israel has already developed a fascist regime with western support, aids and arms. The recent visit to the Lebanese village of Ghajar and the statements by Israeli extremist foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman seem to be an attempt by Lieberman to appease the regime to save his own skin in the fraud scandals surrounding him worth trillion dollars. Last months police investigations have hammered out the case and he is trying to stay on in power. Over the weekend, Israeli police suggested that the state indict its own right-wing extremist foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman on charges of fraud, money laundering, and obstruction of justice.

The Zionist regime takes recourse into the neighborhoods with terror strikes to outsmart the political opponents at home. The recent Dec-Jan display of Zionist fascism in Palestine remains a glaring example for this. Israel cannot be allowed to play with its neighbors by employing terrorism planks- Zionist regime is part of the GST to terrorize and kill Muslims. Obama wants, by solving the Palestinian-Israeli struggle, to boost the forces of political moderation in the Muslim and Arab worlds, which have been weakened by Israel's unresponsiveness to any Arab peace initiative put forward by Arab political moderates. India and Israel might not like the change envisioned in US policy formulations.

Israel has to be brought to justice for crimes against humanity, including Lebanese. President Obama is aware that the Israeli-Palestinian struggle is the region's central problem. He asked his leading strategic ally in the region, the Israeli prime minister, to halt and remove settlements and accept a Palestinian state. The Israeli response, up to now, has been as expected; a refusal to halt settlements, a refusal to lift the siege on Gaza, and the rejection of the principle of a Palestinian state. This is nothing new; it is the reality of Israeli policy since the founding of the Zionist state on Palestinian lands.  Israeli fascism needs to be contained before it is too late!
