"˜Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three.' "“ Stanley Wolpert on Jinnah
"Mohammad Ali Jinnah, his Muslim Tiger wants to eat the Hindu Cow" "“ Time Magazine!!
Such was the stature of the man who created Pakistan. Jinnah was resolute, extremely focused, meticulously disciplined, and possessed Shakespearean tongue. He was a man of vision and political far-sightedness. Then something disastrous happened, after the tragic demise of our only Quaid (Jinnah) , Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated, last words from his mouth were, "May Allah protect Pakistan". Since Liaquat Ali's assassination this country has been run by corrupt, incompetent, and colonial slave rulers.
Who is to be blamed for our downfall? The blood sucking politicians, the sheepish generals, the dead like door knob religious leaders, the power hungry bureaucracy, and the corrupt businessmen. But this is only the tail of the coin. We should look at the flip side of the coin and we will see our own faces there. Yes my friends, we all are also responsible for the downfall of our nation. Do we remember what Jinnah said to us, the citizen of this country? Jinnah stressed on hard work, dedication, unity in ranks, faith in Pakistan and top notch discipline. Did we follow that? No we didn't.
How many times have we violated a traffic law and argued with a policeman? How many times have we thrown litter in our own streets? How many times have we prayed for US green card or Canadian citizenship? How many times do we talk behind our own brothers and sisters? How many times do we make fun of our teachers and professors? How many times have we stooped to ethnic, religious, linguistic, and cultural fragmentations?
This, my fellow citizens are not the traits of Jinnah's nation. We need to transform ourselves and become the nation that Jinnah wanted.
This independence day we should look ourselves in the mirror and ask ourselves have we become the leader that Jinnah wanted? We all have to be a leader of our own lives; we need to break free from Yankee-slavery, and their self inflicted inferiority complexes. Until we don't change ourselves, God will not change our situation. It's time we must realize what is going around us in our motherland, we can't just live through the motions in this lifetime anymore, we must be the agent of the change, not the catalyst.
Pakistani people!!! It's time we start acting as proud Pakistanis, and rise from the ashes of our laziness. Our motherland is crying for our sins and negligence, Jinnah had a dream to make Pakistan one of the most successful countries in the world. It's time to make that dream a reality, each one of us needs to be a leader in our daily lives. Study with passion, gain as much knowledge of Islamic and Pakistan history as possible, take care of your family, friends, neighbors, don't think about money, and think about the priceless beauty of a smile that you can bring on another Pakistani's face. Stop watching three hour long Indian movies, first of all they suck, secondly, they are not worth it, you are better off doing social work for three hours, or reading a quality book or best of all reading the Quran. If we become a good leader of our own lives God will remove this cancerous leadership from our nation and grant us pious, focused, honest and brave leadership. It's time to rise, it's time to revolutionize ourselves, and break the chains of prejudice, hatred, and Yankee slavery.
This is the most interesting time of history, history is in the making, be part of history, history doesn't remember your bank accounts or your palaces, history remembers you only if you made a positive change for the benefit of mankind. It's time to be the change now, don't wait, free your mind now, for what we do in this life echoes in eternity.
Azadi Mubarak
Pakistan Zindabad!!!!
