Fading Hopes : Fatah for reconciliation with Hamas?

      1. Forward for United Struggle?

It may still be a bit early to inform the world about a possible reconciliation of two aimless Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas, to come together on a unified freedom platform to push forward their sovereignty agenda to regain the lost territories from the fascist Zionist regime. The factions have so far created the impression, testified by the Jewish and Christian specialists on Palestine, that they are not too serious about their only agenda: sovereignty. Mediations by external nations apart, the factions perhaps do feel the need to unite before it is too late. It appears Fatah seems to have realized its folly of courting danger in playing flute along with its arch enemy- the Jews,  resulting in the recent holocaust of Palestinians in Gaza strip and the unrelenting settlement constructions in West Bank by the occupying Zionist regime.

Today, even those who supported the Palestinian cause doubt the sincerity of the Fatah and Hamas in pursing the main cause. Freedom struggle requires a unified forum, but the establishment of two political wings in occupied Palestine to appease the "democracy lords" in the west is fatal mistake, though. The enemies of Palestinians have easily used the "divide" to pursue their anti-Palestine goal. Whether in Hamas or Fatah, each Muslim, killed in Palestine by the terror Israeli forces, is a Palestinian. If Fatah or Hamas kills a Muslim it does not become forgivable terror action.

The recent Fatah Congress in West bank seems to have made up its mind world towards a unified Palestinian freedom forum to fight forcefully to regain sovereignty form the occupiers. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction elected a new party assembly on 14 August in a further move to rejuvenate the movement after overhauling its main executive body. Abbas also announced a Central Committee line-up that included several younger members and unseated a number of veteran "old guard" contemporaries of the late Yasser Arafat. The 128-seat Revolutionary Council, which convenes every three months, is charged with implementing resolutions of the congress and monitoring the performance of the Central Committee. Some 600 candidates competed for 80 open places on the Revolutionary Council at Fatah's first congress in 20 years, which began in Bethlehem on Aug 4.

 2. Fatah for reconciliation with Hamas?

In stead of gearing up for a cohesive freedom movement the Palestinians are searching for causes for move divisions in the movement mainly because of the personality ego clashes.., It appears the Palestinians are not serious enough now and as a result the PLO moment is gradually getting weakened and the global appeal is fading pretty fast. Today, after a long struggle, they have fallen into the Zionist trap to create a collection of political tribes, each armed with NGO's, newsletters and bloated bank accounts in various European capitals.  Finally, a great movement has been reduced to ashes, if not cash bundles.

Diaspora of Fatah Palestinians came to Bethlehem from more than 80 countries for the 44-year-old movement's first convention on home soil. Israel tried al dirty tricks to create obstacles to the delegates by controlling the entry points like the monkeys in jungles do. Many of the resolutions adopted by Fatah Congress in August 2009 reflect a newly robust political agenda, which took Abbas by surprise and greatly displeased the Israelis with an emphasis on the legitimacy of all forms of resistance (including re-igniting the intifada), antipathy towards Israel and rapprochement with Hamas in the interest of strength through unity. Elections for the Central and Revolutionary Councils saw many of the so-called "˜old guard' dismissed and a much needed injection of new blood into tired old veins with 14 out of 18 members of the executive Central Council taking their seats for the first time. One of the notable newly elected members of the Central Council is Marwan Barghouti, who is currently in jail in Israel for his role in the intifada.

Fatah members believe their secular, Western-backed group is now better placed to seek reconciliation with the rival, Islamist group Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip, restoring unity to the divided Palestinian nationalist cause. Reinforcement of Fatah, battered in parliamentary polls by Hamas in 2006 because of its perceived corruption, cronyism and complacency, may also strengthen Abbas's hand in talks with Israel as U.S. President Barack Obama readies a new peace plan.

So far Israel has succeeded in squashing Palestinian sovereignty aspirations with political tribalism, factional decay and internal divisions. Palestinian Authority (Fatah) President Mahmoud Abbas, under the terrible push from USA and Europe has failed in appeasing Israeli colonialism with ill-defined "˜pragmatism' that only promoted Israeli fascism and media fanaticism. For Abbas's Fatah faction"˜s main concern now seems to outsmart Hamas to show to the Israel that he still important in Palestine, That is tragedy of a freedom movement, effectively controlled by the colonizers and their cronies. As a result, the key issue of sovereignty to safeguard Palestinian national rights has been driven out. Here the Zionist regime and Mossad have done a marvelous job.

                                                 3. Fading Hopes!

Israeli terror intelligence Mossad is keeping guard of the "great Palestinian divide" by infiltrating into their ranks and files and making many Palestinians as their local agents on both sides. Fatah seems to have more of them, apart from the CIA paid agents. As if the divisions are not enough, now there are groups inside Hamas to further weaken the Palestine cause. Hamas, which controls Gaza, launched a bloody crackdown on the group, Jund Ansar Allah (Army of the Helpers of God) led by Abdul-Latif Moussa after it declared an "Islamic emirate". Hamas considers these Israeli Zionist declarations, of an Islamic emirate, are aimed towards incitement against the Gaza Strip and an attempt at recruiting an international alliance against the Gaza Strip.

Fascist Israel calls Palestinians "terrorists" but now Hamas calls some of their own people as terrorists. After letting the Zionist invaders to kill their people in thousands, now the shameless Hamas fighters on Aug 14 fired rocket-propelled grenades at Ibn-Taymiyah mosque, where at least 100 Jund Ansar Allah supporters were holed up. Scores were injured in the attack, on a mosque in Rafah, near the Egypt border. Hamas also stormed Moussa's house.

Mossad, like other state secret agencies, play havoc in Palestine. Possibly under the impact of the Mossad destructive and divisional activities inside Palestinian Territories, Moussa and his armed supporters had sworn to fight to the death rather than hand over authority of the mosque to Hamas. The group is very critical of Hamas, which controls Gaza in 2007 after the poll, accusing the Islamist group of not being Islamist enough. The ruling Hamas has forbidden anyone except what it describes as Hamas security personnel from carrying weapons in Gaza.

Besieged by internal and external forces, Hamas has forgotten that they struggle for sovereignty and they have to take all sections together, including Fatah. The Red Mosque Massacre last year in Pakistan which somehow had foretold the end of Musharraf regime in Islamabad has been repeated by Hamas by murdering the Muslims to show their strength to Israelis who keep killing Palestinians and Hamas or any other Arabs could stop and repel the terror attacks of foreign invaders. This is yet another shameful episode in the history of the Palestinian struggle. Wickedness of Palestinians have got exposed here- not their patriotism or love Palestine or Islam and fellow Muslims. 

Israel remains the chief cause for all world tensions by terrorizing Palestinians and selling weapons to fighting oppose countries and organizations. In stead of a strong collective response to withstand Israeli military pressure and terror strikes and divisive tactics at home, Palestinians are deadly divided only to suit and aid the aggressors' pursuits. Unlike the Arafat's tenure, the PLO under Abbas, directly controlled by the CIA-Mossad combine, is not eloquent enough now to communicate the Palestinian message to a global audience.

True, Hamas is the ruling party in Palestine and it has the right to punish the anti-peace and anti-Palestine elements, but now doing this is not in the interests of the unity of the Palestinians. Even if the Palestinian teams do not in fact seek a sovereign state for themselves- but they are just fighting for the sake of a fight- , they should unite to get freedom from fascist Israel in order to show the right path to all other independence seeking peoples around the world, because, even if the resolution of all major regional conflicts does not depend mainly on the speedy resolution of Palestine cause, establishment of a Palestine state would encourage all freedom loving nations for attaining independence sooner than later.
