Serfdom in Palestine: Israeli Blockades, Illegal Settlements & crippled Palestine economy

All colonial and imperial powers promote slavery and exploitation in some form or other. Zionist Israel and Hindu India do not make any deviation from the western rules of colonialism.

Russian serfdom in distant past denoted the ownership by the tsars and their landlords of slaves along with their belongings and rights by the landlords. Israel now pursues same law with regard to the Palestinians whose properties the Zionist regime has annexed and the people are made slaves, unable to move about freely with Israeli check posts and border posts closed by both Egypt and Israel creating a virtually permanent siege for the Palestinians while the fascist Israelis invade and kill Palestinians and take away their lands. Many Palestinians don’t even know the meaning of sovereignty now. But the fascist regime in Israel shamelessly talks about its own sovereignty. Netanyahu said, "We accept no limitations on our sovereignty. Jerusalem is not a settlement." Palestinians are now slaves to serve their Zionist masters.

The Zionist regime has, over decades of strenuous strategic efforts, converted the free Palestinians into hordes of slaves and kills them by blocking all outlets of their nations. Right from the beginning the Zionist regime has pursued projects are illegal. The settlements in the Israeli-occupied West Bank are illegal under international law. The Palestinian Authority is refusing to negotiate unless Israel heeds US pressure to stop all construction in the settlements. Israel says it wants to keep building, at the very least to provide homes for the "natural growth" of the 450,000-strong Jewish settler population in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. But with about 30% of West Bank Palestinians out of work, and average earnings in the territory little more than half Israel’s minimum wage, labouring in the settlements has its appeal for Palestinians. Some 12,000 Palestinian construction workers get Israeli permits to work in the settlements each year.

Western powers and Israeli customers of Israeli military equipment to kill Muslims have no objections to the Zionist fascism and colonial criminalities against the innocent nationless Palestinians. After crushing the defenseless Palestinians economically, militarily and socially, the Zionist regime exploits them as cheap labourers. Jews get the poor Palestinians to build their luxurious homes in Palestine under the Zionist brute control and kill them almost after the job is over. Everything, all the settlements - even most of the Wall - was built by Palestinians," he says, referring to the barrier, detested among Palestinians, Israel is building, sometimes looping deep into the West Bank. They say some better alternative would emerge to rescue them form hunger and hard labor for the Jews.  However, Fatah Palestinians seem to have unofficially recognized Israel but reject demands they ought to define how they view the country's ethnic character.

Israel has full access to the world by all means of transport, but the Palestinians are denied that ordinary provision by the Zionist regime; yet, the western world has not attacked Israel, while the Zionist regime keeps attacking Palestine for quenching its blood thirst. While economy of Gaza Strip is completely crippled by fascist Israel, the West Bank economy is heavily reliant on aid, long crippled by checkpoints, roadblocks and other restrictions which Israel says are for its citizens' security. Bassam Khoury, the Palestinian Authority's Finance Minister. "The first thing we need to do is to stop settlements, stopping settlements will break the shackles the Israelis are putting on the Palestinian economy and as a result we will jumpstart the Palestinian economy and then we can find jobs for those people," he explains. But the Israelis, who have eased several key checkpoints in recent months as part of a plan to boost what they term "economic peace", accuse the Palestinians of failing to co-operate and attract investment. And some of the Palestinian workers blame their own leaders.

Prices in Israeli controlled Palestine have already gone up 10-15% in the past three months as buyers forecast a squeeze on supply. Tens of thousands of workers came from the Gaza Strip and West Bank to build homes right across Israel. Since the intifada that began in 2000 brought a wave of Palestinian suicide bombings, the number of workers allowed into Israel has plummeted, along with the wages they are paid. They were paid even less - 100 or 110 shekels ($26 or $29) per day - below the Israeli minimum wage of 150 shekels ($40). Salwa Alenat, an Israeli-Arab labour activist with the organization Kav LaOved, says paying less than the minimum wage is illegal - despite the fact that workers are in many cases hired through a chain of subcontractors, sometimes West Bank-based Palestinian companies. It's like a jungle… the employer can pay whatever he wants, the subcontractor can get whatever he wants, and the workers lose," says Ms Alenat. They fear losing their jobs and also their work permits, which are often obtained through the contractors. So the workers keep coming, and the settlements keep growing. "It's hard to describe the feeling, it's a very bad feeling - you can see how we're losing our land, bit by bit," says Hossam Hussein, 26. The workers said they wanted a settlement freeze, even if it meant losing their jobs, although none seemed to have a clear alternative plan. But most, having experienced the ruthlessness of Zionism, did not believe it would happen.

Upon crippling the Palestine economy with intermittent airstrikes and murders, the Zionist regime uses the Palestinian human labor of at a very cheap rate. Israel is using the Palestinians as laborers for illegal construction works in Palestine. Whole village works in the settlements "I feel like a slave," says 21-year-old Palestinian Musanna Khalil Mohammed Rabbaye. "But I have no alternative," he says, as he waits among a group of sun-beaten men in dusty work boots outside the Jewish settlement of Maale Adumim. Jaffar Khalil Kawazba, 24, says he is supporting his 10 brothers and sisters as his father is too ill to work. Fahd Sayara, 40, is trying to fund treatment for his disabled child. The laborers try to explain why they spend their days hammering and shovelling to help build the Jewish settlements eating into the land they want for a future state of Palestine.

Israelis enjoy life to the fullest extent possible, while telling bull about terrorism from Palestine. Jews build their houses, have cars, and make very good progress for their families, while Palestinians toil, suffer and work for these rogues. Yet, Israel threatens the Palestinians of stopping hires if they protest and let the outside world known about Jewish wonderful democracy. The Palestinian workers "will be the first to be hurt" if construction stops, says Israeli salesman Meir Levi, as he leafs through brightly-colored plans of five-room family villas. The Zionist regime continue killing Palestinians and crippling their shaky economy with regular air and land attacks and simultaneously uses illegal constructions to excite and woo the hungry going Palestinians to come running for construction works to earn their daily bread. This is the essence of Zionism.

Palestinian territories are infested with terror agents of Israeli Mossad and have infiltrated into the ranks and files of both Fatah and Hamas; these agents, on instructions from the Zionist regime, cause problems for any real peace moves. With Gaza sinking into poverty and disarray, the group is wary of domestic challengers. Fuelled by the Mossad and CIA, an al Qaeda-linked faction's Aug. 14 declaration of secession in southern Gaza led to a Hamas police onslaught in which 28 people were killed. In fact it is these Mossad agents who are responsible for the holocaust of Palestinians and their hard life under Zionist rule. Gaza is a tiny piece of land while a part thereof can at best be a big street or a cluster of streets and making it a separate nation would amount to mocking at the very concept of independence. Obviously the Mossad is playing dirty tricks in Gaza.
