Who won and who lost in Pakistan in Power Struggle?

  By Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal

1.

Of course, no one can guarantee if Pakistan has finally got over the turmoil and resumed its right path of Islamization to which Islamabad is committed and against which the anti-Islamic forces led by USA-India-Israel are operating around the world. But there can be no two or more opinions that in Pakistan there has seen too much of negative politicking in the past leading to continuous turmoil, endless governmental instability and administrative and economic chaos. The winners so far have not been the masses, but, unfortunately, the enemies of Pakistan and Islam.

When the anti-Islamic nations are bent upon destroying Islam by promoting terrorism, Muslims seem to be busy searching for more capital fortunes by any means. An end to the so-called "Long March" that gripped the nation for a week bought peace, albeit temporarily, and most likely, for Pakistani politicians. However, Americans drones are threatening the very foundations of this Islamic state.

Does it not amount to inviting more American and Indian drones? US-led terror forces attacked Afghans, Iraqis and Pakistanis presumably on the strength of bulk of Muslims embracing Western culture n preference to Islamic Sharia' and Pakistanis supporting Indo-Western fascist democracy are getting trapped into the anti-Islamic designs of them. For these anti-Islamic forces Islam is losing its importance because it is being projected as a terrorist.

After complete destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan, now the USA and its terror allies are focused on doing the same in Pakistan, a close ally. US-led forces and their Indian allies have already killed enough Muslim in Pakistan and on the border regions. It is intriguing that soon after American media reports that Washington was preparing to launch drone attacks in Balochistan as well, which caused dismay and anguish in the length and breadth of the country, certain politicians and some sections of media have synchronized their views supporting American contention that there were safe havens of Taliban and other militant groups in the province.

The global media make one believe that Pakistan opposition has won the “democracy” battle and ruling party lost in Pakistan. More precisely, Nawaz Sharif has won the latest round in an ongoing battle with the government, first driving in triumph through a police cordon surrounding his house in Lahore and then meeting the premier Gilani for a communiqué. Have the ordinary people one?

Failing to gauge the meaning of erosions of Islamic identity of this important Muslim nation, the neo-democracy favorites in Pakistan claim victory for "democracy" so are the Indian ‘secular" strategists who thought Pakistanis "finished" once for all now say reinstatement of judges gives hopes for “democracy”.  But have the voters who lead a miserably existence and have lost lives in demonstrations and voted to put in place a new regime in Islamabad and provinces won? Or, has Pakistan won?

To put it bluntly, have the people gave the mandate to rule the Islamic state gained anything substantially in the ongoing democracy battle? The leaders have fought for the welfare of common people and not protested against the rising prices or tax reduction to their benefit that would have made them feel “involved” and the real moving force. These days prices of daily essentials hit the sky and adversely affected the poor. The huge armada of hundreds of billion rupees costing ministers, sectaries, advisors, parliamentarians acting absolute Pharaohs and cannot walk ten feet free in street for their unpopular acts yet claiming representatives of people: loose every right to stay in government. The rampant misgovernance, mishandling of every national affair, economy, security, domestic, national politics of dividing political entities ,corrupting them, subservient foreign policies to appease India, USA, UK and their puppet regimes around the world, may let ultimately RAW, Mossad, CIA, SIS, M15 to excited their sinister agenda to destabilize, denuclearize, weaken Pakistan, also to split Pakistan which has to be vigilantly watched and the designs frustrated with pro-national, united efforts of each and every party.

Any one supports Islam and Islamic way of life is branded by the anti-Islamic forces and media as “mullah”. Have the enemies of Islamic Pakistan won against Pakistan and Islam now? One welcomes the return of judges to their seats once again for which Sharif’s efforts merit appreciation and, similarly, ordinary Pakistanis also deserve some fruits from the regime. One has not got the answer to the question posed: who won and who lost now?

It remains a sad commentary on Islamic Pakistan where the leaders keep engaging themselves in fierce power struggle while ignoring the ground reality about posture of sworn enemies of Islam and Islamic Pakistan inside, on the borders, around and world around. There are as many enemies around the nation as there are foreign agents helping their master in destabilizing, dividing and destroying the nation.

As an Islamic society Pakistan has a special duty before the people which is equality in practice. A common man’s meek voice could be heard every where in Pakistan about their pathetic plight in Islamic Pakistan where the rich and their politicians make a better future only for themselves by suing their mandate. At long last, Pakistanis back to a sort of normalcy and another stage of power struggle has come to a positive end with government and opposition agreeing to give some hopes of the common men in Pakistan.

If Pakistan politicians had taken up the cause of common men honestly and sincerely, the plight of poor and weak would have improved considerably. As an Indian I have serious reservations about the anti-Muslim role in India. But the Islamabad media talk only about lawyers and judges while leaving out the poor Pakistanis in dark. Of course, one can surely talk about unconstitutional misdeeds against judiciary, inducting heavily partisan judges, but the role this esteemed category of people play is much to be desired. They have to rise about petty politics and play the constructive role expected of judges. Nothing is enough for true democracy, so long as the people and their genuine interests are left sideways while trying the lion’s share in everything. ! If they also leave the "poor" matter to the Almighty, then, this writer better shut his mouth. One is not very sure if it is just the beginning of a Democracy Renaissance in Pakistan as the big guys outside and on the periphery are waiting in wings to make use of all available changes to advance their own interests at the cost of common Muslims in Pakistan.

One only hopes the power struggle in Pakistan ends once for all to give way for competitive politics without revenge and hatred. Musharraf vacated his seat after shedding his General uniform, to enable Pakistani leaders to build up a strong Pakistan. If the leaders in Pakistan keep fighting each other even on flimsy grounds as part of larger power struggle, neither can they solve the domestic problems, nor can they successfully face the outside threats as the one on March3 in Lahore.

It seems, however, in a short spell of time in office, President Asif Zardari, whose address to the Parliament on 28 March could be a landmark in Pakistan politics hereafter, has made strenuous efforts to prove himself to be a person who is having the capability and efficiency considered to necessary for full command over the accomplishment of interests of the country and the people. At one time it appeared fascist India would attack Islamabad and complete the “unfinished job” there. But Zardari, for terror India factor, has very little control over the American drones being blasted in Pakistan.  Zardari tries to bring about stability and prosperity to his country which will depend on the approach of other politicians. He told the Parliamentarians that the government was pursuing an integrated strategy of dialogue, deterrence and development to bring peace to the strife-ridden northern Pakistan. Similarly, in Balochistan a process of dialogue and reconciliation has been initiated while allocating massive funds for the development of the province. Both the government and the opposition have learned from the past, and instead of confronting each other all the time, and will now accommodate each other’s point of view to prevent the system from collapsing again. The Zardari government would continue to pursue a policy of peace and normalization with honour in the neglected zones with nth country.

Common people in Pakistan are still awaiting positive roles by their law making representatives in capitals. Will the leaders now pay some attention to their genuine concerns as well, even if they, now thunder-struck with the recurring turmoil, are scare of asking for welfare actions themselves? If, however, the ruling dispensation and the opposition think only God can help the poor folk, then, only the neo-democrats in the country should help them.

One of constitutional guarantees is protecting of Muslims in Pakistan from enemies and Zardari government must ensure the quality of life of Pakistani common men and the mandate to help them advance their legitimate welfare rights should not be flip-flopped and back tracked. The fact remains that barring autonomy issue, Balochistan is comparatively peaceful province. But, the neo-democrats in Pakistan have developed fascination for western civilization without even bothering about learning about tenets of Islam and criticize the Islamic scholars as "mullahs" as Hindus and other fanatics call. The US plan would definitely trigger large-scale unrest in the province. Once the Taliban government is placed in Afghanistan all troubles in the region would come to an end, to some extent at least, because unless India vacates Jammu Kashmir, there cannot be any lasting peace in the region.

One major question requires a reply from the neo-democrats in Islamic world: Is power struggle a part of democracy or should the polls be conduced in the most free and fair mode so that a majority government could assume office with effective horse-trading? Perhaps this tricky question could only be handled by the proven democracies of the world, like USA that has unleashed terror in Islamic world, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, or Israel which keeps killing the innocent Palestinians children among other in Palestine or India that is systematically annihilating Kashmir Muslims as the chief goal of its democracy?

Finally a straight question to the democrats and neo-democracy Muslims particularly in Islamic world: Are corruption and crime the dominant variables determining the strength of democracy in a given country? That is to say, more the corruption practices and crime, better democracy? Conversely, is it possible to establish a democratic system without inimical crimes and rampant corruption? Additionally, if not the mainly, cannot an Islamic society exist on its own by implementing Sharia' for the people? Many Muslims try hard to prove that Islam is compatible with democracy, but they fail to grasp the gist of the anti-Islamic designs to defame Islam and make it a "failed religion" on "terrorism" pretext created so strenuously by thee enemy of Islam. Islam cannot be compatible with imperialism and colonialism, both old and new versions, and, therefore, cannot accept all disastrous manifestations of this global phenomenon. Nor any really civilized world would support the devastative outcome anti-Islamism.

Muslims in Pakistan should recognize their role in the Islamic world and also comprehend the global designs to destabilize the Islamic world by engineering turmoil and they should believe the simple fact that western democracy for making more profits and crimes can never replace Islamic Sharia’. Ameen!
