Why corrupt Muslim leaders flee to Makkah?

-DR. ABDUL RUFF

______

Is Mecca a safe place for all corrupt criminals that many Muslim leaders visit the holy place not so much to purify their sins but  for safer opportunities  to loot the nation? Do these tainted Muslim leaders share with "big people" there the wealth earned by immoral and illegal means?

It has become a practice of  corrupt or criminal Muslim rulers and former rulers to make an immoral “pilgrimage” to Makkah when their fortunes are bad. Several tainted Muslim ruelrs and leaders have beocme casula visitors of the Holy Kabah. They perhps  bleive that if they visit Makkah all their sins would be  wahsed away.

Very recently,  Bangladesh premier madam Hasina, also the former premier of Bangladesh,  had made a “ pilgrimage” trip to Makkah in the eve of polls after losing power in Dhaka and caught in serious corruption cases, she decided to try the Makkah trick . That created wonders for her. After her retirun ot Dhaka she won the parlamentary polls and became premier once again to loot the nation’s  resources.   In  fact, BD military and media also supported her candidature.

Egyptian presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq who lost ot Mohamed Mursi has reportedly left the country on June 26 for the United Arab Emirates from where he intends to set out on a pilgrimage to the holy Mecca in Saudi Arabia,

According to  sources, Shafiq flew to Abu Dhabi with two of his three daughters and three grandchildren. His campaign manager told Al-Masry al-Youm newspaper that Shafiq left for a short stay, and would return after making a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. He then plans to launch a new political party, clarified the same source.

The departure of Shafiq came hours after the country's prosecutor general opened a corruption investigation that Ahmed Shafiq had wasted public funds during the eight years he spent as Minister of Civil Aviation during the administration of former president, Hosni Mubarak.

During the presidential campaign, former premier of Mubarak regime Shafiq has denied all allegations of corruption directed towards him.  Shafiq  is  not the lone former member of former reigme to have fled  Cairo. With changing political  mood of the nation many pro-Mubarak leaders have left Egypt.

Several members of the Mubarak regime have fled to the UAE and other Mideastern sttes since the fall of the deposed President Hosni Mubarak. Egypt's former spy chief and Vice-President Omar Suleiman also left the country for the UAE.

The corrupt Pakistani president Zardari, who serve jail term for his corrupt crimes, also visits Mecca and Dubai. his objective could be  multi-pronged; not only he wants to increase his wealth abroad, but also  wants make his beloved son who enjoys life abroad to be the next president of Pakistan. Zardari now misuses the People's Party, founded by Bhutto, for his personal and private benefits and supporter os of PPP just ignore that. The US puppet regime cares only about the ruler family circles and cares a damn about the people, the voters who get killed by NATO terrorists. .

Saudi Arabia is already a wealthy nation and should not require extra money from others for its sustenance. In fact, Riyadh and other Arab nations can dutifully share their wealth with poor Muslim nations. But unfortunately they shield the crimes committed by corrupt Muslim rulers and promote their match towards greater illegal wealth. Many corrupt Muslim leaders invest their ill-gotten money in Mideast, West and elsewhere. .

Arab nations have a prime duty to project islam as the truly real religion of honest and sincere people. Is that not?

How long will Saudi kingdom promote such immoral "pilgrimages" of corrupt criminals?
