Humiliation to Pak military delegation at U.S. air port and madness of PAF air chief

By: International Professor

The news item published in U.S. press about humiliation to Pak Military delegation at Dulles air port was shocking but when delegation cancelled their further visit to CENTCOM gave relief that still there are honourable professionals in Pak army.

This report was not enough when blood boiling comments of some peoples were found on different websites with remarks soaked in hatred against Pakistan and army delegation were found. On one side Gen. Kiyani is claiming that he is sacrificing our priceless Jawans to maintain peace on the streets of Washington and London and on other hand Anglo-Americans are sparing no moment to humiliate Pakistan as a country and its peoples.

DG ISI had to cancel his scheduled visit to U.K. after Prime Minister David Cameron’s comments against Pakistan. It is not a first instance that top Pakistani military officials have been humiliated by U.S. officials, previously Gen. Orakzai and Gen. Rashid Qureshi openly commented that those will never revisit to U.S. Everyone knows that what happened when Gen. Tanvir Naqvi along with other senior officials were insulted on airport in Mush era.

Now such kind of incidence has become routine and flight attendants have given powers to listen any drunken person and off load the passenger. In 100% cases Muslims and particularly Pakistani’s is their target. This is all happening due to unnecessary greed of dollars has devalued our politicians and generals.

Recent controversy on Altaf Husain’s statement has also created an opportunity for those politicians to roar against Pakistan army that had been hand coughed and dragged by army Hawaldars a few months back. Today third class politician and anti-Pakistan ANP’s Haji Adeel has openly insulted DG Military operations during a briefing at Islamabad. (refer daily Ummat and daily Express of 01-09-10)

Some peoples are propagating that army has achieved its lost popularity is a myth; in fact American war of terror has exposed all kinds of myths surrounding bravery of Pakistan army. Long list of medals to army officers and Jawans killed for the sake of dollars is showing other side of coin posted by ISPR.

The countries that are showing middle finger to our officials repeatedly whether our army chief did not have middle finger. Our criticism to generals and politicians is for the sake of rebuilding nation, in spite of repeated attempts of corruption and fascism we have no choice to side with our officials visiting overseas and representing our national flag. On other hand PAF air chief after receiving humiliating kick to his colleagues became made and used air force to kill 40 persons including women and children at Tirah Valley today. Bombarding on peoples in Ramadhan while majority was with fast shows criminal mentality of air force chief.

Please read following reports published in media and tell us what to do, May we cry on role of Pakistan army in obedience of foreign powers.

Pakistani military officers on way to Tampa are detained in Washington

Associated Press, Tuesday, August 31, 2010

WASHINGTON — A delegation of Pakistani military officers, traveling to the U.S. Central Command headquarters in Tampa, was detained for questioning by airport security agents after arriving at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, a Pakistani official said Monday night.

The officers were detained after one of them made what a flight attendant considered to be an inappropriate remark on the way to Dulles, said the official. That officer was removed from the flight after it landed, and the rest were detained after they disembarked. They were later released.

Members of the delegation of about eight officers, led by a two-star general, were offended by their treatment and cancelled the meeting at Central Command, the official said.

He said that Defence Department officials had apologized for the incident and that it was unclear whether the meeting would take place.(1)

Pakistani military delegation heads home in protest after Dulles incident

Tuesday, August 31, 2010; 10:47 PM

A delegation of senior Pakistani military officials visiting the United States for a major defence conference headed home in protest Tuesday night after they said they were interrogated and rudely treated by security officials at Dulles International Airport.

The nine-member group of high-ranking Pakistani officers boarded United Airlines Flight 727 from Washington to Tampa late Sunday but were pulled off the plane after one of them "made a comment to a flight attendant," said Mike Trevino, a United spokesman. United did not provide details, but Pakistani officials said the remark came from a general in the delegation who - weary of a long day of travel that began in Islamabad - said, "I hope this is my last flight," or words to that effect.

That sparked a call to Dulles law enforcement officials, who detained the delegation for 2.5 hours and refused to allow the officials to contact their embassy or the U.S. military officials who had invited them to visit, according to a Pakistani military official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Pakistanis were finally released after police at Dulles determined they did not pose a threat. But instead of proceeding to Tampa, the delegation was ordered to return to Pakistan by their military superiors in Islamabad, in protest of their treatment, the Pakistani official said, adding that they were "verbally abused." The group of officers spent the next 48 hours in Washington, waiting for the next available flight home, and were scheduled to depart the United States on Tuesday evening.

The Pakistani officers were originally en route to U.S. Central Command headquarters in Tampa to attend the annual conference of the U.S.-Pakistan Military Consultative Committee, said Maj. David Nevers, a Central Command spokesman. He said Centcom officials hoped to reschedule the conference. (2)

Security forces kill 40 ‘militants’ in Tirah

By Ibrahim Shinwari , Wednesday, 01 Sep, 2010

LANDI KOTAL: Security forces claimed to have killed more than 40 militants in shelling in different areas of the Tirah valley on Tuesday.
According to officials, over a dozen militants were killed in Nari Baba, 13 in Nakai and 18 in Takhta Kai and Qilla areas.
The claims could not be verified independently,
while some reports suggested civilian casualties in the heavy shelling.
According to earlier reports, six suspected militants were killed and four others injured when a military plane attacked a moving vehicle in Tirah.

However, officials said women and children were among the dead and injured. The injured were taken to a hospital in Peshawar.
A security official said the authorities had information about the presence of dozens of militants in the area. Independent sources insisted that most of those killed were non-combatants and all of them belonged to the Kukikhel tribe.

Military officials said they had clear orders to avoid civilian casualties. “It is never our deliberate effort to hit civilians,” an official said, adding that all the dead and injured in Tuesday’s attacks were militants.

The remote Tirah valley is an important junction for militants operating in Orakzai Agency and Bara sub-district of Khyber tribal region. Bara in particular has seen an uptick in violent incidents in recent weeks, including attacks on security forces. Peshawar has also come under pressure from militants operating in Bara, prompting calls from the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for action against militants in and around the provincial capital. In other incidents, two people were shot dead in Bara and Jamrud. (3)

Non Professional pilots of PAF:

PAF jets and helicopters are being operated by third class professional pilots and thousands of women and children have been killed under the cover of terrorists. In fact Pakistan has deceptive constitution and in the presence of fraudulent democracy there is no accountability of army officials. If it would have happened in any civilized country those pilots would be sent to jail in first instance. That is why foreign countries are humiliating our officials because according to comments of ordinary peoples on foreign websites those think that our army is mercenary force nothing else.

So, the Conclusion is, USA loves to apologize to Pakistan and to win that opportunity, CIA had conspired and ordered a private American Airline to humiliate our gods, the Pakistani Generals. Could you please also ask that General, how much was he paid by CIA to say, "I hope this is my last Flight" because he had triggered this heinous CIA Conspiracy.

Friends in need

Gen. Asad Durrani, 10-09-10

Those who offloaded our star-studded delegation from an American airliner did us a huge favour. Some gains we immediately cashed. By calling off the visit the military’s standing at home improved further. Washington’s apology, symbolic or insincere, should also count for something. If a routine visit, it saved us precious time; if of substance, it would be rescheduled and give our side an opening advantage. The real benefit however would only accrue, if one got the big picture right.

We have enough problems of our own, but may still profit a great deal if we understood what has afflicted the post 9/11 America. If al Qaeda did in fact hate American liberties, as President Bush would have us believe, it eminently succeeded.

The episode at the Washington Dulles International Airport was yet another proof that once the freest of all societies was now under siege. That is not half as bad as the all pervasive paranoia that has infested America. Obama’s heritage and the colour of his skin did not come in the way when he was elected to the high office — thanks to George W, but the bigoted in a society don’t take too kindly to such slights.

The racist America got even with O J Simpson, a coloured superstar who was charged with killing his (white) wife and acquitted by an all black jury. The myth of the melting pot was already cracking. Smarting under the humiliation of the presidential election, these forces of darkness were not going to let Obama, with that extra baggage of his middle name, get away with even upholding basic American values — the right to freely practice religion, for example.

The ruckus over the ‘ground zero mosque’ is not essentially about Islam and the enormity of the twin towers. It is the old empire: a coalition of military-industrial complex, neo-cons and assorted lobbies, hitting back. America is economically not in the best of shape. The largest credit rating company in China, the country that keeps the US on a monetary lifeline, has declared it insolvent. The British historian, Niall Ferguson, has warned that the American empire may collapse under its debt sooner than expected. The Brotherhood was still not willing to let an upstart liberate the US economy from its stranglehold. Obama’s economic reforms were threatening to do precisely that.

In normal times, one might not have cared whether he succeeded or not. In fact if the still surviving superpower were to come crashing down due to its imperial overreach or wars within, one would even thank the Almighty for the retribution of American war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. But then these are not normal times.

Both these wars have long been lost. The former head of the CIA’s Bin Laden unit too has conceded that. Obama was still blamed for cutting the US losses in Iraq. He therefore cannot withdraw from Afghanistan without declaring some victory. It is more or less clear how to do it: leave behind a consensus dispensation, which is the only insurance for a stable Afghanistan, and thus provide the much-needed ‘face saving’. The problem is that with the country divided along all possible fault lines, only a confident American leader can pull it off.

We therefore have a vested interest in America not going down the pipe. Not yet, because we want it to vacate our neighborhood before it does so. The damage that its presence in Afghanistan has done to that country is obvious, its fallout on Pakistan not always so. As long as the drones continue killing our citizens, a few amongst us will blow up whatever comes their way. We may talk about the rights and wrongs of the matter, but for some it is a matter of life and death. Saving the US from this eastern version of the Bermuda Triangle is therefore for our own good.

Kukikhels protest airstrike; want killing of innocent probed

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Said Nazir Afridi

BARA: The elders and members of Kukikhel tribe on Friday staged a protest rally against the killing of innocent people in the recent airstrikes in Sandana area of Tirah valley and urged Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to probe the incident and punish those responsible for causing the death of civilians.

The procession, led by Malik Faizullah, Malik Ismail, Malik Israr, Malik Wazir and Malik Salahuddin, marched on the highway linking Pakistan with Afghanistan from the office of the Assistant Political Agent in Jamrud to the bazaar in the town where a big public meeting was held.

The protesters were carrying banners and chanting slogans, demanding that the security forces should stop killing innocent people. At least 17 persons including 12 civilians and five militants were killed and nine civilians were injured in the airstrikes and subsequent shelling by the gunship helicopters in Tirah valley on Tuesday.

According to official sources, up to 45 militants were killed in the shelling. The locals, however, contested this claim and claimed most of those killed were civilians and included women and children.

Addressing the protesters, Malik Faizullah condemned the killing of women and children and said his tribe was loyal to the government and had always opposed militancy. He said after the airstrike in Sra Vella in Tirah valley on April 10, the army chief had expressed regrets over the killing of innocent people, promising that such incidents would not be repeated. “The army chief should fulfil his promise and ensure that the killing of innocent Kukikhel people is stopped forthwith,” Malik Faizullah demanded.
Malik Faizullah said the informers giving wrong information to the security forces for launching such attacks wanted to create differences between the government and Kukikhel tribe to create law and order problem in Jamrud. He asked the political administration to convey their concern to the top army officials.

Pakistan jets target militant hide-outs, 60 killed

Wednesday, 01 Sep, 2010

PESHAWAR: Pakistan army jets and helicopters targeted militant hide-outs near the Afghan border, killing 60 people identified as insurgents or their family members, including children, security officials and a witness said Wednesday.

The deadliest strikes hit an area where army fire had killed 60 civilians earlier this year.

Accounts of civilian casualties in army airstrikes make it harder for the military to win the support of local tribesman in the border region, something crucial to flushing out Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants who have found sanctuary there.

The attacks occurred Tuesday and Wednesday in different parts of the region.

There was no independent confirmation of the casualty figures because the area is too dangerous for outsiders to visit.

The raids Tuesday took place in several villages in Teerah Valley in the Khyber region and killed 45 people, the officials said. One official said some vehicles rigged with explosives had also been destroyed. He could not say how many.

He described the dead as insurgents, but said it was possible that people living with them could also have been killed. Separately, an intelligence officer said some women and children had been killed in the attacks.

Jihad Gul, who lives near one of the villages, said he had seen the bodies of at least 20 women and children.

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas said reports of civilian casualties were unconfirmed.

The security officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

An air attack Wednesday in the adjoining district of Orakzai killed 15 suspected militants and wounded 10 others, according to local government official Jamil Khan and a brief army statement.

In April, the Teerah Valley was hit by army airstrikes that killed about 60 civilians. The army, which initially described the victims as insurgents, ended up paying compensation to the victims’ families and its chief issued a rare public apology.

45 militants (?) killed in Tirah blitz: officials

01-09-2010

BARA/LANDIKOTAL: At least 15 people, including five militants and 10 civilians, were killed and nine others injured when jet fighters and gunship helicopters shelled different areas in Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency on Tuesday, local sources said.
However, official sources claimed that 45 militants were killed when hideouts of militants were targeted in the attack.

The sources said that two jet fighters carried out air strikes against the positions of banned Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in Majeed Morcha, Ghaibi Neka, Naray Baba, Sandapal, Nangroosa, Speen Drand and Sandana areas of Tirah Valley early in the day in which several hideouts of militants were destroyed.
“Subsequently, two gunship helicopters appeared in the valley and carried out shelling in Nangroosa and Sandana areas populated by the Sepah tribe to which the LI head Mangal Bagh belongs,” said a driver Shahaan, whose vehicle was destroyed in the shelling.
He said they were on way to Mehraban Killay in Tirah valley from Jamrud Bazaar in three passenger vehicles when they were told by local people in Naray Baba that they should not go ahead as gunship helicopters had been shelling Sandana and Nangroosa areas.
“We waited for a while and when the helicopters disappeared, we reached the Sandana area where helicopters reappeared and hit our vehicles in which 10 civilians were killed and nine others were injured,” he added.
All three passenger vehicles were destroyed and bodies of those killed along with the injured, including women and children, were shifted in other vehicles to the Civil Hospital Jamrud,” he said, adding that they saw three other vehicles destroyed in Naray Baba.
“I have seen five bodies of militants lying on roadside in Naray Baba area while I was coming to Jamrud,” Younas, another driver of a passenger vehicle who escaped shelling, told this scribe in Jamrud.
An official in the political administration confirmed that six innocent people were killed and four others were injured in the shelling in Sandana area of Tirah Valley.

All the dead and injured civilians belonged to the Kukikhel tribe, which has stayed neutral despite the growing militancy in Tirah Valley.

The local sources said that houses of two militants were also destroyed in the air strikes in Sandana and Nangroosa.
They admitted that some civilians might have been killed in the shelling but they were the people supporting the militants. They also claimed that militants were using civilians as shield. Meanwhile, a commander of the LI rejected the official claim and said no human or property damage was inflicted on the militants in the shelling.
