Malala Yousufzai not likely returning to Pakistan

I wish it is wrong what is captioned above but perhaps it is not so and there are many valid reasons behind the same and not otherwise.

I have received an email earlier this week from one of my distant relative who is known to my elders much before even my birth and he graduated before partition of 1947 and has had many seniors positions both in East and West Pakistan till he finally retired so he is certainly a man of integrity and morality hence he ought to be trusted when he said something alike. He narrates at one his very close blood relative is married in Yousufzai family, the roots of Malala Yousufzai and hence from that point of view there is some truth if not whole truth. The email is received by me from Karachi, Pakistan says that there are strong indications that Malala and his family is not coming back to Pakistan. Some days back I have myself read at net that she has no plans to live in any place other than Pakistan and she has very emphatically and categorically has said aloud that she will return to the country she was born in and raised but perhaps now for some unknown reasons she has changed her mind.

Sometimes back this year in October, Malala was attacked by Taleban in Sawat which is a volatile place in any case while she was returning home after attending her school. Thanks Allah she was not killed instantly though this is what the attacker wished but she had been very seriously injured and blood oozed out from her body in any case and she was provided emergency 1st aid at the site before being transported by army helicopter to Sawat and then to Peshawar. Undoubtedly she had been provided the best possible treatment both in Peshawar and Lahore in Pakistan but yet it was judiciously felt that since she was fired at skull and hence her condition was a bit serious and in the greater interest of her health she must be flown out to some advanced country in the west which is much better equipped than Pakistan for further treatment. One way or the other, she was flown to UK and admitted in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham for further investigations and treatment. The hospital itself is very well known for its expertise in dealing with those patients whose life could be threatened and all those who are seriously injured on fronts in Afghanistan or Iraq have been sent to this very hospital and it is on record that those who were brought to the hospital in on stretcher have left the hospital walking at their own.

It may not be out of place to mention that at the time when Malala was seriously injured and coma ridden, she was brought in from Pakistan to the QEH, Birmingham and the team of the doctors attending Malala were not pretty sure if she will even survive. They at that point of time had apprehended that perhaps she has 65% survival chances but that was just a wild guess because she had been just pushed into the hospital without any investigations and treatment. However, after conducting series of laboratory investigations and careful treatment the team of the doctors announced that she is out of danger and none should worry about her anymore. They did say that her recoveries will not be that fast as one might think of but they were still very much hopeful that eventually she will be as normal as before. Hours turned into days and days into weeks and the world started getting good news on Malala from the hospital. After some days she gradually showed the signs of coming out of coma situation as she started responding to some extent which was the biggest news as the ice had eventually broken. Then another happy and historic day came when Malala could see around and speak to some extent which was the biggest achievement so far for the team of the doctors assigned for treating her.

Pakistan government made all the arrangements and bore the total expenses so far involved for shifting Malala’s parents, her brothers and sisters from Sawat to her bed side in Birmingham. Earlier Pakistan has announced that all expenses for her treatment in UK or any other country, as the case may be, will be pocketed by Pakistan. UAE President had shown a great humanitarian gesture as he has sent his own private jet to Pakistan to fly her out to Dubai if she was to be treated there or any other country where ever she had to be treated. This all spoke very high of both governments i.e. Pakistan and UAE for extending unflinching humanitarian support to the girl who had been so savagely attacked by Taleban for none of her fault and therefore such like patronage is to be most commended and applauded because Malala came from a poor family who are not properly taken care of in any case.

Talebans know it very well that she is very much flown out of Pakistan to UK for treatment and therefore the dare devils have announced publicly that they will target her again as and when she returns to Pakistan which is very awful news in any vase. She who had been writing in UK and fully exposing the cruel and inhuman atrocities committed by Talebans in Pakistan which quite naturally annoyed Talebans to the maximum and they were after her blood to suck and they did not miss the opportune and finally pounced on her with gunshots and therefore attack on her when back in Pakistan cannot be ruled out. Secondly UK is the country where so many people from different countries of the world including influential Pakistanis take refuge and do their best to seek UK nationality on one pretext or the other so the question is that why not Malala should also avail the golden chance to reside with his family in UK. Technological development in each and every section and safety and security of UK as compared to my beloved Pakistan also instigates the people to tilt towards the country whose capital is London.

Lastly it be noted that for some days Malala has not indicated that she is returning to Pakistan. She sympathized with Hamid Mir, on telephone in Islamabad a couple of days back when a bomb was planted near his car but on that day too she was completely silent on returning to Pakistan. Let me conclude saying that there are very strong indications that Malala is gone off from Pakistan to UK unless you have still the stronger and convincing arguments to prove it wrong.
