Nothing but awful news of Pakistan

Daily I read all English dailies of Pakistan on the net while see our different television channels as well and I am completely at a loss as to what is going on and who is safe and where in my beloved Pakistan and that is why I am seeking an answer from my compatriots be male or female.

After reading all the newspapers today Wednesday 12th December, 2012 at net till 1323 my time and 1523 PST, I will hurriedly go through the terrifying news I have read and one way or the other I did not find any province which can be construed to be safe for both human beings and animals simply because something adverse is found out in each and every province. Numerically speaking for quite many months and not weeks or days for that matter, Sindh is leading the table which is followed by Pakhtun Khawa, Baluchistan and Punjab respectively. This rating remains almost constant because there are hardly any significant changes except that it may differ in some level of percentage from yesterday to today but nevertheless gloom still keeps on haunting us down. If today Punjab flares up then tomorrow it could be the day for Baluchistan to surpass Punjab and likewise day after tomorrow PK may leave behind the rest of her sister provinces. Central Government being hand in hand with the provincial governments has tried their best to at least lowly the temperature so that normalcy comes back to the provinces but all in vain.

As regards Sindh, just six people including a doctor, a police man, father & son and two others were killed in Karachi. Needless to mention, each day people are being killed in Karachi as if it is a must that some people must be killed in the city in daily basis. Total 6 killed in one day in Karachi are very much terrifying to be honest if someone truly realizes. Just imagine what mental torture must be faced by the relatives of those who are near and dear of those who are killed alike. This very clearly proves beyond any shadow if doubts that despite deploying Rangers fully supported by police and other law enforcing agencies human life is not at all secured there and no knows when normalcy will return in Sindh.

PK paints very gloomy picture in any case. A doctor by profession and working as EDO of D I Khan on his way from Peshawar to Kohat has been abducted along with his driver and a staffer and none knows where the three have gone. Peshawar High Court has shown displeasure about non recovery of 8 people abducted way back in August while working at Gomal Zam Dam. HC has ordered that all available sources and resources be deployed to get them released from their abductors. Yet I found news saying that in Mahmand, Khyber Agency a man was killed when a hand grenade was hurled on him while a dead body was also found. Students of Saidu Sharif Girls College demonstrated in protest for naming their college after after Malala Yousufzai because they fear that it will ignite new anger in Taleban who then may attack their college so it is better that college name should not be changed so that their lives are not at risk. Taleban has proved to be more powerful and dangerous that the government is a very serious problem which needs immediate and permanent solution.

It is the province of Baluchistan where Dr Abdul Aziz, a consultant has been abducted in Quetta and junior doctors have taken note of it and were on strike for some time registering their anger. These doctors have asked government to take immediate steps to get his released but in case if he is not released then young doctors will continue to be on strike in sympathy of their such senior doctor. Incidentally, it be mentioned that quite a good number of doctors have already been killed in Quetta while few who were abducted had been released too.

Punjab has really taken lead over the other three governorates to prove that it is not just the human beings whose lives are in danger rather animals too are not safe either in the province. BZ University, Multan has reported that its 4 deer are stolen from its zoo which is very shameful indeed simply because they were gifted to BZU but now the same are missing now. What a shame that when nine was killed in the province then someone thought of stealing animals if not human beings so that Punjab also is remembered and not forgotten.

Summing up, it is really very much shocking that not a single day passes when there is no bad news in my beloved Pakistan but to tell you the truth it was not so awful when I flew out from Lahore in Aug 1976 and God knows better how could pleasure is taken away and sorrow gifted instead. I have my very serious doubts that we got our beloved Pakistan to live like this but who is responsible to change the situation and when is an unanswered question to be honest.
