And I had always a Paisa (Quarter Anna) or so to return with after eating a Band Samosa and a qulfi or cup full of Jelly. Later in 1947 I used to get Rs. 20/= per month as pocket money. Out of it paid Rs.9 Annas 12 as college fee (no riff raff college either - Edwardes College Peshawar - one of best

The batmen then were there to only look after the uniform of the officer and not do the household chores like the later years. While dealing with the tailors and dhobis he often used to remind them haughtily that he was not a sepoy of

Some of the clippings on TV showed lawyers dancing rather immaturely bhangra style on Asma’s winning the Bar’s election. Somehow the spectacle presented a sight least behoving an educated class who when pitched against the ordinary assert to be from the profession of great leaders like Quiad. Would Quaid or Iqbal hop,bop and bound in streets throwing away their stature and grace expected of it to

Not many in Pakistan knew that 33 miners were trapped for more than two months deep beneath a Chilean gold and copper mine and were rescued on Wednesday 13 October 2010. A marvel of engineering and precision, first in drilling down a 2,041-foot shaft through the rock to reach the miners and then raise them up one by one in a rescue capsule called Phoenix.

Bob Woodward in his book “Obama’s wars” , as reported in the daily The News October 12th, 2010, says on page 26 that President Zardari wanted to clear the air about the controversy over civilian deaths from drones and told ex-CIA Director Mike Hayden that “Collateral damage worries you Americans. It does not worry me. ”Reporting this startling statement, Woodward said: “Zardari had just given the
