“Indian Obsessions for ISI”

            In order to process the information of strategic importance every sovereign state employs its intelligence assets to evaluate threats to its national interests and recommend measures to overcome the extraordinary challenges in a given time frame. Pakistan is no exception as it is surrounded by an unstable, tumultuous and turbulent neighbor (Afghanistan) in the west while an arch rival (India) with much bigger size, superior military strength, nuclear capability, deep seated animosity with acrimonious designs to inflict serious damage to the vital national interests of Pakistan, in the east. Unfortunately Indian political leadership, think tanks and media leave no stone unturned in targeting Pakistan, tarnishing the image of its armed forces and building fake cases against its intelligence agency. Indian spin masters continuously make plans; manipulate information attaching connotative meanings and using denotative phrases to simple incidents to show Pakistan in bad light. It appears as if Indians have developed some kind of obsession and a psychological fixation for Pakistani intelligence agency.

            Indian media has always projected Pakistan’s strategic intelligence agency as a radical and extremist outfit which has been allegedly involved to sponsor terrorist attacks in India. Pakistan not only out rightly rejects such slanderous and insulting broadcasts but also vehemently protests against these allegations. Let us examine as to why India targets Pakistan’s intelligence agency? Indian hatred against Pakistan is so deep and strong that it can not bear any institution designed to protect Pakistan’s national interests. On the other hand ISI is an effective and efficient outfit, totally loyal to the state with professional competence and devotion to duty. Merited performance, professional excellence and exposing truth are the hallmarks of its organizational make-up. Consequently all anti Pakistan activities are well monitored and picked up by it while viable recommendations are offered to concerned authorities to undertake measures to block and defeat the nefarious design of the enemy. Since all hostile Indian efforts against Pakistan are blocked and frustrated by Pakistani intelligence, therefore, Indian psychological blitz against it continues. 

            In the past India has been frequently insinuating against Pakistan especially its intelligence set up. Finding Pakistani intelligence personnel more competent and committed to cause, India started collaborating with CIA and Mossad to build fake cases against Pakistani operatives. David Headley’s affair is a point in case. Presently India is trying to get access to US national David Headley who went into plea bargain in US court to avoid death penalty for his involvement in drug trafficking and links with Mumbai attacks. The aim is to manipulate information with oblique angle couture to build a fake case of terrorism against Pakistan and Pakistani intelligence assets.

            Indian insinuations aimed at weakening the institutions of Pakistan. Indian spin masters have a clear design to provoke Pakistani political leadership and part of media to go tough with ISI for allegedly dictating the terms. This is not only a clever scheme to interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan but also a brazen act of propaganda against Pakistan. Indians have allegedly tried to link Pakistani intelligence agency with numerous acts of terrorism including events in India and Afghanistan. The aim was to create fissures between strategic partners (Pakistan and USA) on global war on terrorism. Their efforts proved successful as they managed to create doubts in the minds of US policy makers to see Pakistani performance with a twist of mind that Pakistan was double crossing US / CIA and others in Afghanistan. Thus India managed to defame ISI at the cost of inflicting serious damage to the cause of fighting the menace of terrorism. US political leadership needs to pay attention to such like latent Indian designs.  

            India also needs to review her contemptuous and acrimonious policies against Pakistan by resorting to deep introspection as Indian domestic environment is fully contaminated by her own intelligence agencies. Religious extremists in India have given an ideology to Indian law enforcing agencies and intelligence outfits including RAW to resort to target killing inside India. RAW also operates secretly to undertake subversive and sabotage activities against minorities and quickly passes on the blame to Pakistani intelligence agency. Indian media must bear the responsibility to find out credulously who murdered Shahid Azami, Defence Council of accused Ajmal Kasab involved in Mumbai attacks? Reportedly Azami had uncovered the truth about Mumbai attacks and was about to reveal the same in the court of law or to media. Hindu mafia could not bear it and decided to eliminate him. Similarly who was behind the nationwide terror conspiracy to establish the “Hindu Rashtra” which was being exposed by the ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, and his subsequent mysterious killing? Similarly what prompted Col Prohit to become a state terrorist? Who is prompting Maoists to challenge Indian state authority? Does it figure rational to hold others responsible for events having domestic dynamics and local links in India? India must learn to live with the truth and the legitimate truth is that terrorism has home grown basis in India.
