Shame, shame and shame is our name.
The bombings, one after another, in Lahore and Quetta must be very thoroughly investigated and ordering a so called high level inquiry or forming high powered commission will not solve the riddle unless and until our government officials want to limit themselves to sending condolence messages and or announcing some mocking compensation for those who either lost their lives and or were injured.
Isn’t is hammering your mind like mine, to realize that only our country is officially named as The Islamic Republic of Pakistan which has its own significance, meaning, entity and implication. Even if for academic discussion, we remove The Islamic Republic from our country’s name still it does not warrant genocide. Moreover, it is holy month of Ramazan which teaches and professes us love, peace, welfare but yet some during the same holy month are after sucking our blood? Why and how and under which terms and conditions, our Shia brethren are targeted in Lahore and Quetta. Is Pakistan being predominantly dominated by Sunnis cannot allow Shias to live here even if they are believed to be approximately 20% of the whole population? Doesn’t our constitution, irrespective of whether amended one or the original one, give a guarantee that all those living within its territorial limits are to be fully protected without any distinction, discrimination and difference? Are those who are very proudly, loudly, fearlessly claiming to have carried out human carnage in Lahore and Quetta not known to us? Aren’t we giving a clear and loud signal to our whole nation in particular and the world in general saying that despite ordinary police, elite, different intelligence agencies and Rangers etc, to name a few, our official machinery simply cannot even reach what to talk to capture the master minds of suck like bombings?
Shias are living in almost each and every country in all the continents though, of course, varying in percentage but they are not singly targeted alike. Kuwait, the country I am living since 1978 also has quite a good number of Shias but they are not even disturbed what of talk of being killed. They have their own religious places all over the country where they pray and gather as and when needed and hardly there had been any such ugly situation either during my period of stay and or even prior to my arrival and there are far too many countries with the same situation but no problems. On the reverse all know that Iran population is more than 90% Shia but still Sunnis are living in peace and tranquility.
It really very shameful that lately Qadianis, of course in much less minority than Shias are being subjected to such like indiscriminate bombings and killings even though they are with us from day one. How lamentable and tragic is the plight that despite passage of many decades since we became an independent and sovereign country we still terribly lack in social and moral values. What could be the reason or reasons that we cannot and wish not to learn as to how to live in peace and congenial atmosphere? Who is so ignorant, if any, that neither our religion nor the constitution allows that human blood be bled in this manner?
Keep your hand on your heart to feel the real agony when we lost not just 100 rather more than that, not a small figure from any account in any case. Some of those who luckily could defeat the death at the site of the explosions are not fighting for their lives. I do not wish but it is feared that a few will succumb to their injuries as it has already been reported till now. From the rest, a few may even undergo imputation which will be nothing short of lifelong tearful story. Some injured will be incapacitated either temporarily or permanently. Whatever could be the plight of a person concerned, not only him or her rather his or her family will curse us for enduring such horrific and untold stories. The bread earner, in some cases the only bread earner; having lost his life has killed his family as a consequence. The incapacitated unable to earn any more has turned himself and his family to begging which is yet another slap on our face.
Shame, shame and shame is our name.
