God forbid, is Kahuta next, may I dare ask???????
How many years, I doubt if one can put a date, have already passed and none in my beloved Pakistan right from east to west and north to south can categorically pronounce as to when did Taliban strike for the very first time in the land of pure.? Can some one even correctly and judiciously define and or personify as to who is a Taleban? How devil dare were those just handful persons who attacked none but the very heart of our might and pride and that too in broad day light?
Saturday 10th Octobers attack on Pakistan Army GHQ, Rawalpindi is not just an incident to be reported in the media or for issuing condemnation and or even offering condolences rather in fact it is not short of do and die situation. Needless to say that none, either popularly elected government and or once heavy mandate claimant, has issued any statement condemning the attack even though now it is 2341 hours my time and 0141 hours Pakistan time. It is reported that 6 men clad in army uniforms came in a vehicle on gate number 1 to enter GHQ where their personal identification was asked for and the attackers instead of submitting to the checking staff, brushed them aside and tried to push in which quite naturally infuriated the situation and the attackers exchanged fire with the security officials. Ten people including a Brig and a Col Ahmad, others and 4 terrorist died in course of action. It is also reported that the two attackers who escaped from the fighting scene have taken away around 10 people and holding them as hostages. They have been encircled and authorities are deciding as to how to pounce on the attackers s that the hostages be freed unharmed and I am sure my armed forces will eventually get the freed.
Not only I but every one of us can write pages and pages on the subject but at this point of time what I fear the most is that when they can attack GHQ, they may target our nuclear site as well. Taleban over the years have already played havoc with us and despite our tall claims we have suffered very heavily. How to prove judiciously and not just sentimentally that our nuclear sites and facilities are way beyond the reach of Taleban?
