According to the Interior Minister, and very correctly too, mobile phones can also be used for exploding the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) as a remote control means. He had, therefore, ordered suspension of the mobile phone service in certain cities on Eid day. A news report says that a million dollar donation has been made to Ajmer Sharif (India) by the high commissioner of Pakistan in Delhi on behalf of the President Asif Ali Zardari and the People of Pakistan. May I know how much of this million dollars is the personal contribution of the President and how much of it is on behalf of the people? And, if the entire amount is to be paid by the tax pay

Dr. Faiz Ahmad of the NUST (NewsPost Aug 3rd) has rather sarcastically tried to ridicule Agha Waqar for the auto water-kit (WK) that the later is trying to find sponsors to produce commercially. I am sure the learned doctor knows that the water kit is not something new and quite a few of the US and French kits are already available in the market. I myself got one fitted for Rs. 25,000/= in my K

Mr. Naseen Sadiq, in his article “Challenges Before the ECP”(“The News” August 3rd, 2012 ) has brilliantly enumerated the challenges that the ECP has to face in making the elections Free and Fair and has posed a number of questions to the CEC starting with, “Will the next elections replicate the ECP’s dismal performance of the past?”. The learned writer has drawn our attention to the farcical ab

One sees some of the female TV artists, news casters and anchors heavily made up to the extent of looking being painted on our TV screens. As some of them could be fasting, is it allowed for them to wear lipstick – mostly imported - which apart from having some dubious ingredient like the fat of some animal, does have also a taste which the tongue tip could feel distinctly if touched by it. Honourable Justice (Retd) Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim– the newly appointed CEC has openly admitted that it will a ‘challenging’ task for him to hold the free and fair elections as expected of him by the nation. Probably he had just in mind the violations of the PEC rules committed by the contestants in the recently held NA 151 bye elections at Multan and the helplessness of the Election Commission to t
