How did General Musharraf govern Pakistan? What did he do right? Where did he go wrong? What is his record in terms of human development and economic growth from 2000 to 2007? Musharraf is being castigated by all and sundry left and right for many things including the drone strikes in Pakistan. Yes, Musharraf did allow the use of drones but has anyone also given it a thought – why. Are the drone strikes doing harm to Pakistan or good? Who are they used against and actually kill whom? According to my understanding, Musharraf has done more good to the country than he is accused of doing bad. He is a brave soldier and true Pakistani patriot. Nisar’s and General Musharraf’s nomination papers were reportedly rejected by some ROs at Rawalpindi and Karachi but were strangely found acceptable by the other ROs at other places allowing them to contest from those constituencies in the coming general elections. The ECP has done well to introduce the ‘None of the Above” box in the ballot papers and has asked for a Presidential ordinance to be issued in this respect to incorporate the change in the electoral rules.
