Mr. Surjit Singh Lamba has translated the Urdu poem of Dr. Allama Iqbal in to English verse. The name of the poem is " Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa" ( Complaint and Reply). Mr. Lamba belongs to Sikh community and hails from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. His parents migrated to India at the time of partition in 1947. It was quite amusing to see GeneralKhalid Shameem Wynne, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee himself doing the Slow March by jerking his feet forward one at a time in drill square style just as was being done by the two escorts ahead of him while he was reviewing the Guard of Honour presented to him on his retirement. The ZilHajj moon was sighted on 6th October 2013 in Pakistan where as it appeared on the 5th in Saudi Arabia. Hajj would, therefore, be performed on the 14th October and the Eid ul Azha on the 15th at Makkah whereas in Pakistan Hajj will be observed on the 15th and Eid on the 16th consecutively. Islamabad ( press reporter): The English translation of the poetry book of Dr. Allama Iqbal titled" Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa by eminent Sikh Indian scholar Surjit Singh Lamba has been published from New Delhi. Under the note of dedication the translator writes:" Dedicated to Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal my spiritual father."
