Though the Defence & Shuhada Day celebrations at various stations of Pakistan were really praiseworthy yet, our media at places over reacted in projecting the events of the 65 war. For example; while praising the bravery of the Pak soldiers they were reported to have laid themselves in front of the Indian tanks with mines on the chests in the battle of Chawinda !! Well, nothing of the sorts hap Click here to read Full Article

The Prime Minister launched his 10 billion Tree Campaign to make Pakistan greener by planting a sapling at Haripur today. There are no two opinions about this campaign being the need of the hour and a right step in the right direction which has been already long overdue. Everyone not only appreciates it but prays whole heartedly for its success. There are vast huge areas in Pakistan which off Click here to read Full Article

Every now and then one receives on one’s mobile phone some religious material to be circulated further in thousands and millions and warning those not doing so of dire consequences. Someone simply starts with, “We want to present the Holy Prophet SAW with a gift of 5 Crore Darood and you should share it further immediately”. And the chain takes off instantaneously. Imran and the Heli by Col. Syed Riaz Jafri (Retd)

If nothing else the way Imran Khan’s heli ride to office and back to Bani Gala is being discussed, ridiculed and mocked at sarcastically has exposed badly the lack of intellect, intelligence and commonsense of his political opponents and some of the media men (and women) who look to be bent upon into misleading the innocent and the naive that Imran Khan is indulging in ‘high flown’ luxury by adop Click here to read Full Article

A front page picture in an English daily showed President Mamnoon Hussain – on visit to UK – hugging Hussain Nawaz when he visited Harley Street Clinic to inquire after the health of ailing Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Looking at the picture the first thought that came to my mind was, “Bravo, the President of Pakistan had himself grabbed hold of a proclaimed Click here to read Full Article

Flag Hoisting or Unfurling by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Just like many previous many years today again the Pakistan flag was hoisted at places and unfurled at others. The President and the care taker Prime Minister presented a rather – pardon my saying so – a comical sight by pulling at the strings as if drawing water out of a well. Flying a flag has certain norms which must be strictly adhered to. For example, no flag can fly (be up) after “Retreat” Click here to read Full Article

Mufti Munib ur Rehman has announced that in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Eid ul Azha would fall on 22nd August 2018. According to the Islamic chronology Eid is the day after Hajj, when the Hujjaj offer the sacrifice, get their hair cut and undo their ahraam. Now Hajj can ONLY be performed at Makkah and NOWHERE else in the world, and it would take place there on the 20th of this month. So the d Click here to read Full Article

PTI Chairman is nominating the provincial governors which looks strange to me, for I had always thought that the governors were the President’s representatives in the provinces and a sort of check and balance over the provincial rulers. Click here to read Full Article
