Jinnah Ground by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)

A news ticker on a TV channel read, “Altaf Hussain has allowed use of Jinnah Ground to PIT for its public meeting”. May I ask, in what capacity has he done so? I always thought it was the city administration who could permit use of a public place for a public meeting or not. Again the MQM leadership is heard saying that they will not allow Imran Khan to Qabza Karo on Karachi. Do they mean to Click here to read Full Article

Seven and a half decades ago on 23rd March 1940 some honest, capable and dedicated people decided to have a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub continent India who seemed to have but little future in the coming schemes of the things then in the offing. Miraculously, in a matter of only next seven years they achieved their objective and became the largest Muslim state and the 5th largest Click here to read Full Article

A news item, “We shall not leave MQM in the lurch – A A Zardari”. Whatever he (the PPP) means by it, it is quite evident that birds of feather fly together. Kund hum jins ba hum jins Click here to read Full Article

Altaf Resignations by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Altaf Hussain resigned for the fifth time from the Chairmanship of the MQM but as usual ‘succumbed’ to the crying wishes of his followers to take back the resignation. "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." Click here to read Full Article

SECURITY ALERT by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)
Posted By: Riaz On: 11/Feb/2015 Views:993 Replies:0
A threat from Tehreek-e-Taliban with a 48 hour deadline is received by the authorities that if any of the Taliban prisoners is hanged they would retaliate forcefully by killing everyone in public places and bomb the schools. As quite a few of their prisoners are to be executed, Pakistan has been placed on Red Alert. Click here to read Full Article
Award for APS Shuhada by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)

Some of our politicians have suggested award of Nishan e Haider to the Shuhada of the APS Peshawar. They seemingly do not know that an NH is a purely military award and unfortunately cannot be awarded to the brave civilian valiants. However, no gallantry award in the world would measure up to the highly commendable heroic deeds of the very young braves of the APS Peshawar and their equally dar Click here to read Full Article

I travelled by my car from Lahore to Islamabad on M-2 Sunday the 11th January 2015. I left Lahore around 11 a.m. and it was quite foggy there. The weather mostly remained so till Bhera allowing varying degrees of visibility ranging between 100 to 300 meters all along. I was naturally being careful and kept my speed low rarely touching 100 KMs per hour at the most. I kept to the left lane when driv Click here to read Full Article
SCHOOLS SECURITY by Col. Riaz Jafri (Retd)
Posted By: Riaz On: 14/Jan/2015 Views:1173 Replies:0
Government is doing a laudable job in not issuing the NOC to the schools to reopen until they took appropriate measures to ensure the safety and security of the children. However, the parents are quite apprehensive that all such expenses spent by the schools on security measures shall be passed on to them. Governments – Federal as well as the Provincial – are, therefore, requested to come to Click here to read Full Article

Ever since the APS Peshawar horrendous incident of December 16th, almost all schools have been closed and various measures are being discussed and planned to ensure the security and safety of the children. Apparently, the emphasis looks to be on preventing a terrorist from entering a school premises and for that measures like raising of the perimeter walls, armed manning of the gates and various s Click here to read Full Article

It was October 19th, 1941 that the Quaid in his Eid message gave the motto Unity Faith & Discipline to the nation yet to be born. Its Urdu rendition was Ittehad, Yaqeen, Nazm. Immediately after the creation of Pakistan this Unity Faith & Discipline adorned the most prominent places like govt. buildings, offices, official stationery, postage stamps, ramparts of the forts, hill side slopes – set in Click here to read Full Article
